Women's Shelbe Raschel Hoodie
Softshell Hoodie · Daily / Trail / Layering / Year-Round

A layer that's up for everything. The Shelbe Raschel protects against wind whipping between buildings or howling across sidewalks — a midweight soft shell that balances performance with utility, pairing wind resistance with a soft, low-pile fleece lining for next-to-skin comfort. Built to stand up to the elements and match any outfit. The WindWall face fabric blocks the wind, the raschel fleece lining traps warmth, and the stretch-woven construction moves with the body through a full day of commuting, hiking, or working outdoors.

Regular Fit
Regular fit through the body with enough room for a baselayer underneath, but cut close enough to seal in warmth without billowing. The fit layers cleanly under a shell for cold-wind days and works on its own over a tee for a fall morning around town. Sized to be a true mid-layer — the layer you reach for when a fleece is too bulky and a wind shell is too cold.
WindWall™ Fabric
Wind-resistant WindWall fabric — a tightly woven, stretch-infused polyester shell that blocks wind from cutting through to the fleece lining. The fabric's weave and DWR finish are what keep a cold breeze from stealing the warmth the raschel fleece is working to hold. The stretch component lets the soft shell move with the body rather than fighting it, which is the difference between a comfortable layer and one that pulls across the shoulders on every reach.
Non-PFC DWR Finish
Non-PFC durable water-repellent finish for added water repellency — light rain, snow flurries, and trail mist bead up and roll off the surface of the shell instead of soaking through to the lining. The non-PFC formulation means no perfluorinated chemicals in the finish. The DWR is the spec'd detail for the in-between weather that doesn't warrant a full rain shell but calls for more than a fleece alone.
Recycled Polyester Construction
Solid body fabric made with 91% recycled polyester; heather body fabric made with 93% recycled polyester; lining made with 100% recycled polyester. Almost the entire jacket is built from post-consumer plastic that would otherwise be in a landfill. The recycled content doesn't compromise the wind resistance, the stretch, or the soft fleece interior — it just keeps the material loop closed from the start of the supply chain.
Low-Pile Raschel Fleece Lining
Low-pile raschel fleece lining for added warmth and comfort — the fuzzy, soft interior that turns a technical soft shell into a layer you actually want to wear against the skin. The low-pile construction traps warmth without bulk, dries faster than a high-pile fleece when it does get damp, and slides easily over a baselayer on a layering day. The lining is what makes the Shelbe a "wear-it-all-day" piece rather than a strictly technical layer.
Attached Three-Piece Hood
Attached, three-piece hood — the three-piece construction follows the shape of the head for a snug, vision-friendly fit, and the hood sits cleanly on the shoulders when worn down or lays flat against the back when pushed back. The hood is fitted rather than oversized, which makes it a clean everyday layer rather than a technical shell hood. Compatible with a beanie underneath on a cold-wind day.
Exposed Center Front Zip
Exposed center front zip — runs the full length of the jacket for fast venting on a hard climb or a warm commute. The exposed zip is lighter than a covered placket, which keeps the soft shell from feeling heavy, and the slider is sized to operate one-handed for fast venting when the temperature spikes. The chin guard at the top protects the face from the cold metal of the slider.
Secure-Zip Hand Pockets
Secure-zip hand pockets — high-set pockets sit above a pack hip belt and warm the hands, sized to hold a phone, a beanie, or a pair of liner gloves. The secure-zip closure keeps the contents from falling out when sitting down, leaning forward, or reaching overhead. The pocket linings are the same soft raschel fleece as the body, so cold hands find a warm surface when they go in.
Rib-Knit Cuffs
Rib-knit cuffs seal out cold air at the wrists and lock in the warmth the raschel lining is producing. The heavy 522 g/m² rib knit is built to stretch and recover through years of pull-and-release, so the cuffs don't bag out after a season of wear. The rib lies flat against the wrist without binding, and the wide cuff opening slides easily over a glove or a watch.
Heat-Transfer Logo Placement
Heat transfer logo on the left chest and back-right shoulder — the lightweight, low-bulk branding that doesn't add a sewn-on patch or a heavy print. The heat-transfer process bonds the logo to the fabric, so it moves with the soft shell instead of sitting on top of it. Subtle enough to disappear in a coffee shop, visible enough to read the brand mark in daylight.

Sustainability

Recycled Content
Body, cuffs, and lining all use recycled polyester
Finish
Non-PFC DWR (no perfluorinated chemicals)
Machine Wash
Machine wash cold with like colors. Use a mild detergent. Close all zippers before washing. Wash with similar technical fabrics to avoid pilling from rougher materials like denim or canvas. Cold water preserves the elastane stretch, the WindWall finish, the raschel fleece loft, and the recycled polyester — and uses less energy than a warm cycle.
Tumble Dry Low
Tumble dry on low heat, or lay flat to dry. Remove from the dryer promptly to minimize wrinkles. High heat will degrade the elastane stretch, the DWR finish, the raschel fleece loft, and the heat-transfer logos. Low heat or line drying extends the life of the soft shell significantly and keeps the lining performing like new.
Do Not Bleach or Iron
Do not use chlorine bleach, fabric softener, or iron. Bleach breaks down the recycled polyester, fades the heat-transfer logos, and degrades the DWR finish. Fabric softener coats the raschel fleece fibers with a film that reduces loft and blocks the breathability of the lining. Ironing directly on the shell will melt the elastane and damage the WindWall finish.
Restore DWR
When the WindWall shell starts to absorb water instead of repelling it, re-treat with a spray-on DWR designed for technical outerwear. Reactivating the finish every few months keeps the soft shell handling light rain, snow flurries, and trail mist without soaking through. The non-PFC finish means standard household waterproofing sprays work — no need for a fluorocarbon-based product.
Storage
Store hanging on a wide wooden or padded hanger in a cool, dry place. Fold loosely if storing in a drawer. Avoid leaving the soft shell compressed under heavy gear for extended periods — the raschel fleece loses loft when stored tightly packed, which reduces the lining's insulating power. Hang the jacket on a hook by the hood or the loop at the inside back neck for everyday storage.
Zipper Care
Lubricate the center front zip and the hand pocket zippers periodically with a silicone-based zipper lubricant. Avoid getting sand, salt, or grit in the teeth. If a zipper sticks, work it open and closed gently rather than forcing it. The zippers are repairable if treated kindly — a small detail that keeps the soft shell functional through years of daily wear.
