Timberline Trapper Cap

The Timberline Trapper Cap features bluesign® approved recycled nylon, PFAS-free DWR, and UPF 50+ sun protection for braving exposed ridgelines or setting out for a cold morning on the water — delivers essential warmth and weather protection for winter adventures from alpine treks to frozen lakes and windswept trails, built with bluesign® approved recycled nylon that offers abrasion resistance, stretch, and a brushed interior for next-to-skin comfort, with ear flaps providing critical coverage in biting winds, DWR treatment and wind-resistant construction shielding against light snow and icy gusts, UPF 50+ sun protection blocking harmful UV rays, and moisture-wicking performance that helps regulate temperature when activity levels rise for dependable warmth, technical performance, and all-day comfort in the elements.

Trapper Cap with Ear Coverage
Classic trapper-style cap with integrated ear flaps for critical warmth and coverage in biting winds — protects the most heat-loss-prone zone (ears) on cold winter days, alpine ridges, and frozen lakes.
UPF 50+ Sun Protection
Built-in UPF 50+ shields face, ears, and neck from harsh UV on winter ridgelines, frozen-lake fishing, and high-alpine traverses where UV is intensified by reflection off snow. The highest sun protection tier.
Brushed Interior for Warmth
Brushed interior fabric feels soft and warm next to skin — adds light insulation without bulk and wicks moisture to prevent the cold, clammy feel of unbrushed caps during high-output activity.
bluesign® Approved Recycled Materials
bluesign® approved 61% recycled nylon, 26% polyester, 10% spandex construction — sustainable materials with high recycled content without sacrificing durability or performance.
PFAS-Free DWR Finish
Durable water repellent treatment sheds light snow, sleet, and freezing drizzle — PFC-free for eco-friendlier construction without the persistent environmental chemicals of older DWR treatments.
Movement-Mirroring Stretch
10% spandex content delivers 4-way stretch that moves with your head — comfortable during active pursuits like winter hiking, snowshoeing, and ice fishing without binding or pressure points.
Wind-Resistant Construction
Windproof construction blocks cold gusts from penetrating the cap — keeps head warmth in and wind chill out on exposed alpine ridges, mountain summits, and windswept winter trails.
Moisture-Wicking Performance
Wicks sweat off your head during high-output winter activity — keeps you comfortable on snowshoe ascents, ski tour skin tracks, and active winter hikes without the clamminess of cotton caps.
Abrasion-Resistant Build
Recycled nylon face fabric resists abrasion from backpack straps, hood linings, and rough winter use — durable enough for everyday cold-weather wear and multi-season rotation.
Three-Size Range for Proper Fit
Available in S, M, and L — proper sizing ensures a secure fit under a hood or alone without being too tight (causing headaches) or too loose (compromising wind protection).

Materials

Fabric
bluesign® approved 61% Recycled Nylon, 26% Polyester, 10% Spandex
Machine Wash Cold
Wash on a gentle cycle with cold water and like colors — preserves the brushed interior, spandex stretch, PFAS-free DWR finish, and UPF coating.
Tumble Dry Low or Hang Dry
Tumble dry on low heat or hang dry away from direct sunlight — high heat degrades the spandex stretch, PFAS-free DWR finish, and UPF treatment.
Do Not Bleach or Fabric Softener
Avoid chlorine bleach (degrades nylon, UPF coating, and PFAS-free DWR) and liquid fabric softener (leaves residue that reduces wicking, breathability, and water resistance).
Do Not Iron or Dry Clean
Skip the iron — heat damages the synthetic fibers and UPF finish. Dry cleaning solvents strip the PFAS-free DWR treatment and bluesign® finish.
Re-Proof DWR Periodically
After several washes, the PFAS-free DWR finish may fade. Restore with a PFC-free spray-on DWR (like Nikwax TX Direct) to maintain water resistance.
