They utilize 3-layer Pertex® waterproof protection, and their feature-forward and intuitive design details are geared for utility and versatility. Dual side zips make it easy to dump excess heat when sweating in the skin track, and an avalanche beacon-specific pocket keeps your most important safety gear within quick and easy access. These bibs are perfected with durable, stretchy suspender webbing that's as comfortable as it is functional. Pertex® Shield 3L Waterproof

A bluesign® approved 3-layer Pertex® Shield membrane with a 100% nylon 40D face and tricot knit backer delivers fully waterproof, windproof, and breathable protection with movement-mirroring stretch for long tours and storm-day chairlift rides.

Fully Seam-Taped

Every seam is factory-taped to seal out water at the stitching, giving you reliable wet-weather protection across the entire bib for storm days and prolonged exposure to alpine precipitation.

Dual Side Zips with Swing Hatch

Dual full-length side zips let you dump excess heat on the skin track, and the right side zip extends from the bib top all the way down to the knee for the swing-hatch feature—answering nature's call without baring it all in a frozen parking lot.

Avalanche Beacon Pocket with Clip

A dedicated beacon pocket with clip keeps your avalanche transceiver close to the body for safety, comfort, and quick access during companion rescue scenarios in the backcountry.

Cleaning

Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with a mild technical-gear or liquid detergent (e.g. Nikwax Tech Wash). Do not use bleach, fabric softener, or standard laundry soap, which can degrade the Pertex® Shield membrane and the DWR finish over time.

Drying

Tumble dry on low heat for 20–30 minutes to reactivate the DWR finish on the outer shell, or hang to air dry. Avoid high heat, which can damage the Pertex® membrane, the 420D Oxford scuff guard, and the suspender webbing.

Seam Tape Inspection

Periodically inspect the seam tape for lifting, peeling, or damage, especially after hard trips in abrasive terrain. A small tube of seam-seal repair adhesive can re-bond loose tape in the field and prevent slow leaks at the stitching.

Zipper Care

YKK zippers last longest with occasional cleaning. Brush out debris with a soft toothbrush and fresh water, and rub a beeswax candle or graphite pencil along the teeth if a zipper starts to stick. Do not force a stuck zipper—work it back and forth gently to avoid breaking the slider.

Scuff Guard Care

The 420D Oxford scuff guard is highly abrasion-resistant. Periodically inspect the inner cuff and lower leg for cuts, punctures, or delamination, especially after encounters with sharp crampons or ski edges. Small punctures can be repaired with a gear patch.

Storage

Allow the bibs to dry fully before storing. Hang over a wide hanger or fold loosely in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. Store with the suspenders unbuckled to prevent stress on the elastic. Store away from rodents that may chew through the face fabric.
