Men's Super Alpine Down Parka

The superpowered warmth of the Super Alpine Down Parka is ideal for ice climbing belays, high altitude expeditions, and the earliest alpine starts on cold mountaineering objectives. Reimagined with the help of the Outdoor Research Athlete Team, 800 fill down provides warmth in a featherlight package as Pertex® Quantum Pro fabric protects you from the elements. A quilt-free design on the hood, sleeves, and side body adds durability and weather protection, and the tall front collar with brushed tricot at the chin keeps heat inside. An adjustable hood with a hood lock provides a customized fit and is helmet compatible to withstand the coldest climates. The Super Alpine Down Parka is an ultralight, packable, and insulated product that delivers warmth in extreme conditions.

800-Fill Responsibly Sourced Down
Premium 800-fill-power down delivers exceptional warmth-to-weight ratio for sub-zero belays, high camps, and the most demanding alpine pursuits, while responsible sourcing supports traceable, ethical supply chains.
Pertex® Quantum Pro Shell
A bluesign® approved 30D 100% nylon ripstop with a highly water-resistant polyurethane coating sheds snow, sleet, and spindrift while remaining ultralight and packable for the climb.
Quilt-Free Reinforced Construction
A quilt-free exterior on the hood, sleeves, and side body adds durability and weather protection in high-abrasion zones, eliminating the bulk and stitch lines that typically let cold and moisture in.
Helmet-Compatible Hood
Adjustable hood with hood lock fits over a climbing or mountaineering helmet, with a drawcord cinch to seal out wind and lock in warmth when worn without a helmet.
Tall Insulated Collar
A tall front collar with brushed tricot at the chin seals in core warmth at the neck and prevents the zipper from chafing against your face and chin during long, cold belays.
Double-Separating Center Front Zipper
A YKK® Vislon two-way zipper opens from the top and bottom for easy ventilation on the approach, harness and hipbelt clearance when sitting, and quick heat dumping on the climb.
Insulated Internal Storm Flap
An insulated storm flap behind the center zipper blocks wind and prevents cold spots at the front of the jacket where heat loss is most common.
Strategic Pocket Layout
A zip chest pocket, two brushed-tricot hand pockets positioned above harness line, and dual internal mesh stash pockets plus a single small mesh pocket provide storage that stays accessible while wearing a pack and harness.
Adjustable Cuffs & Hem
Adjustable wrist cuffs seal out snow and wind and accommodate bulky gloves, while an elastic drawcord hem cinches tight to lock in core warmth.
Packable with Stuff Sack
Compresses into the included stuff sack for stashing in a pack, on a harness, or in a haul bag for summit pushes and emergency bivies.

Storage Between Uses
Store uncompressed in a cool, dry place on a wide hanger to maintain down loft. Avoid keeping the parka compressed in its stuff sack for long periods, which can damage down clusters and reduce insulating performance.
Cleaning
Wash sparingly, only when necessary. Use a front-loading washing machine on a gentle cycle with cold water and a technical down-specific cleaner (e.g. Nikwax Down Wash). Do not use bleach, fabric softener, or standard detergent, which can strip natural oils from the down and degrade the DWR finish on the shell.
Drying
Tumble dry on low heat with two or three clean tennis balls or dryer balls. The balls break up down clumps and restore loft. Drying may take 2–3 cycles; ensure the parka is completely dry before storage to prevent mildew and insulation damage.
Waterproofing Refresh
When the outer shell no longer sheds water, reproof with a spray-on DWR treatment compatible with Pertex® Quantum Pro to restore water resistance without compromising the down's breathability.
Field Care
Keep the parka away from sharp crampon points, ice tools, and rocky edges to prevent punctures and shell abrasion. Spot-clean small stains rather than washing the full garment. Repair any small tears promptly with a down-specific patch to prevent down loss.
