All-terrain grip and comfort. Made to wreak havoc on every surface. A shoe made for the trails with the responsiveness you know from the road. That's what the ACG Pegasus Trail is for—running scenic miles in cushioned comfort. We made sure it has the grip you need for traction on wet terrain and GORE-TEX fabric to help keep your feet dry. And the fit? A wider forefoot gives your toes extra wiggle room.
Engineered Mesh Upper
"Tried and trusted, the upper is made from lightweight engineered mesh that combines durability and breathability" — the engineered mesh balances airflow with trail-ready durability, holding up to abrasion from rocks, roots, and brush while keeping the foot cool on warm-weather trail runs. The mesh's structural weave also provides a locked-in midfoot fit without the weight of a heavier upper material.
ReactX Foam Midsole
"This edition of the Peg Trail has more ReactX foam than before" — ReactX is Nike's premium responsive foam, engineered for energy return and a smooth, stable ride. "The increased stack height provides energy return with a responsive, stable feel" — the taller stack delivers a cushioned platform for long trail miles while maintaining the road-shoe responsiveness the Pegasus line is known for.
All Terrain Compound (ATC) Outsole
"Splash your way through wet trails and technical terrain—this generation of Nike's All Terrain Compound (ATC) gives you more traction than previous versions" — the ATC rubber is formulated for grip on wet and variable surfaces, providing confident traction on slippery rocks, loose dirt, and root-strewn trails. The improved compound is grippier than previous Peg Trail generations, addressing the line's historic weakness on technical terrain.
Waterproof GORE-TEX Bootie
"Waterproof GORE-TEX fabric keeps you dry so you can focus on the adventure" — the GORE-TEX membrane blocks water from outside while letting perspiration vapor escape from inside, keeping the foot dry in rain, snow, and puddle-splash conditions. The waterproof bootie makes the Pegasus Trail a true all-weather trail running shoe, ready for stream crossings and wet-weather runs.
Re-Designed Wider Toe Box
"Uphill or downhill, we added extra room in the toe box and forefoot" — the re-engineered wider forefoot lets the toes splay naturally on impact and during push-off, reducing fatigue on long miles. "A wider design means more stability on technical trails" — the broader platform adds lateral stability for side-hilling and uneven terrain, addressing one of the original Peg Trail's gripes.
Road-Shoe Responsiveness, Trail-Ready Build
"A shoe made for the trails with the responsiveness you know from the road" — the Pegasus Trail line is a road-to-trail crossover, delivering the smooth, snappy ride of the iconic Pegasus road shoe with the durability, traction, and protection needed for off-pavement running. The combination makes the shoe a one-quiver option for runners who split time between pavement and trail.

Cleaning
Wipe the upper with a damp cloth and mild soap to remove dirt and trail grime. Clean the outsole with a brush to remove caked-on mud. Avoid machine washing, which can damage the ReactX foam, the ATC outsole, and the GORE-TEX membrane. Air dry at room temperature.
Drying
Air dry at room temperature after cleaning or exposure to rain. Stuff with newspaper or paper towels to absorb moisture and maintain the shoe's shape. Avoid machine drying or placing near a radiator, as excessive heat can damage the ReactX foam, the ATC outsole compound, and delaminate the GORE-TEX bootie.
GORE-TEX + DWR Care
The GORE-TEX membrane and its DWR (durable water-repellent) treatment will wear off over time and with trail use. Refresh the DWR periodically with a spray-on re-proofing product designed for technical footwear to maintain water beading on the surface. A well-maintained DWR keeps the GORE-TEX working at peak performance — if water stops beading on the surface and starts soaking into the outer mesh, the DWR needs refreshing.
Outsole Care
Inspect the ATC outsole regularly for wear or embedded debris. Remove any rocks or sticks stuck in the tread to prevent damage to the lugs. The ATC rubber is highly durable, but trail running on rough terrain can accelerate wear. If the lugs become worn down, consider replacing the shoes to maintain traction.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Use the original box or a shoe bag to protect the uppers. Avoid stacking heavy items on top of the shoes, which can compress the ReactX cushioning over time. If storing long-term, stuff with paper to help them retain their shape.
