Passport JR Youth Snowboard

One of K2's best-selling boards in the Landscape Collection, the Passport, is now available for young rippers ready to take their skills to the next level. The Passport Jr builds off the proven shape of the original, redesigned specifically for kids who are cruising groomers, chasing pow, and pushing their limits all over the mountain. The core profile is shaped to be stable through choppy conditions while staying lightweight and easy to maneuver — simple and perfect for smaller riders still dialing in their style. Directional Combination Camber puts traditional camber between the feet for solid edge hold and pop, with rocker at the tip and tail for a less catchy edge and easier float when the snow stacks up. The lively Aspen core delivers smooth flex and quick response, Biax fiberglass adds the ideal mix of forgiveness and control, and the Sintered 4000 base absorbs wax easily while staying fast and built to handle anything the mountain (or the groms) throw at it.

Aspen Core
A single-species Aspen wood core — sustainably harvested, lightweight, and lively. Delivers smooth flex and quick response across the size range. The Aspen core is tuned to keep the board stable through choppy conditions while staying maneuverable for smaller riders still dialing in their style.
ICG™ 10 Triax Fiberglass with Carbon
Triaxially woven fiberglass integrated with tip-to-tail carbon stringers. The carbon adds snap and edge control for the directional outline, while the triax layup provides the ideal mix of forgiveness and control for progressing young riders.
Directional Combination Camber
Traditional camber between the bindings for solid edge hold and pop, with rocker at the tip and tail for a less catchy edge and easier float when the snow stacks up. A versatile profile that handles groomers, powder, and the rider's progressing terrain choice.
Sintered 4000 Base
A premium sintered 4000 base — absorbs wax easily, stays fast, and is built to handle anything the mountain (or the groms) throw at it. Stone finish for fast wax absorption and consistent speed across conditions.
Triple-Radius Sidecut
Three distinct sidecut radii (e.g. 5.2/7.2/4.7) blended into the edge — versatile turning characteristics that handle groomer carves, off-piste exploration, and the rider's growing repertoire of maneuvers.
Directional Shape
A directional outline redesigned specifically for young riders — sized and scaled for smaller boots and shorter stances. The directional shape supports forward charging on groomers and powder while keeping the board predictable for the rider's progressing ability.
Landscape Collection Tech Package
Part of K2's Landscape Collection — premium tech in a kid-friendly package. The Sintered 4000 base, Triax fiberglass with carbon, and Hybritech construction give the Passport Jr the durability and ride quality of K2's adult boards, sized for the next generation of riders.

Waxing
Wax every few riding days or any time the base looks dry, white, or slow. The Sintered 4000 base absorbs wax deeply — hot wax preferred for full saturation, rub-on for quick field top-ups. The stone finish speeds absorption. For kids' boards, more frequent waxing is a good idea since young riders tend to put boards through more diverse conditions.
Edge Tuning
Sharpen edges with a file or stone when they feel dull, after hitting rocks, or at the start of each season. For young riders still building technique, detune the contact points slightly more than an adult board to prevent edge catches during the learning phase.
Storage
Store the board in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Keep it in a board bag or sleeve to protect the topsheet and base from scratches during transport. For kids' boards, the bag also makes it easier for parents to manage gear.
Repairs
Wipe the base clean after each use and dry before storing. Repair base scratches and core shots promptly to prevent water damage. For young riders who are still learning edge control, expect more frequent base repairs — P-Tex candles work for routine base fixes.
Binding Mounting
The 2 x 4 insert pattern with 0.75" setback supports a slightly tail-set stance that helps young riders find their natural stance. Center the bindings for a more pivoty stance, or shift forward toward the front inserts for a switch-friendlier ride as the rider progresses.
