Men's Active Boxer Brief

If your undies aren’t comfy, you won’t be either. That’s why we’ve designed the Men’s Boxer Brief with features like a double front panel for extra support and seams that help prevent chafing. Plus, of course, the entire brief lets you enjoy the benefits of ZQ-certified Merino wool: moisture management, temperature regulation, and odor control. For a day filled with first-layer comfort—no matter what your adventure holds—pull on a pair of these briefs and get rollin’.

Slim Fit With First-Layer Comfort
Our slim fit is intended to follow the contours of the body without excess bulk or bunching. The Active Boxer Brief sits as a true first layer — close to the skin, smooth under pants or shells, and tight enough that the legs don’t ride up during activity.
56% Merino / 44% Recycled Polyester
The fabric blends the moisture management, temperature regulation, and odor resistance of ZQ-certified Merino wool with the durability and recovery of recycled polyester. Merino does the work against the skin — keeping the brief dry and fresh through long days and multi-day trips — while the recycled-poly backbone holds the knit shape through wash and wear.
Double Front Panel For Support
A double front panel is engineered into the knit construction for extra support where it matters most. The two-layer panel adds structure without bulk and keeps its shape across movement and wash cycles — no sag, no stretch-out, no compromise on comfort during high-output activity.
Flatlock Seam Construction
Flatlock seams sit flush against the skin to help prevent chafing during long days of movement. The seams are intentionally placed to avoid the inner-thigh hot spots that standard underwear creates on hikes, runs, and bike rides — the difference between finishing the day and finishing it irritated.
Wide Elastic Waistband
A wide elastic waistband is designed for comfort across the full day. The wider band distributes pressure across a larger area — no pinching, no rolling, no digging in under a pack’s hip-belt or a harness’ leg-loop straps. The waistband holds its shape through wash and wear without losing stretch recovery.
6" Inseam
6" (15 cm) inseam. The mid-thigh cut prevents the legs from riding up during activity and covers enough thigh to prevent inner-thigh chafing on long hikes, runs, and climbs. Short enough to disappear under pants or shorts; long enough to do the chafe-prevention job.
Multi-Day Freshness
Merino’s natural odor resistance means the Active Boxer Brief stays comfortable across multi-day trips without a wash. The ZQ-certified Merino manages sweat and odor where it builds, so a single pair handles the trail-and-town rotation that breaks a synthetic brief down before the trip is over.

Washing
Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with like colors. Cold water protects the Merino fibers, the recycled-polyester backbone, and the elastic waistband recovery. Turn the brief inside out before washing to reduce surface abrasion on the outer knit and protect the double front panel from wear.
Drying
Tumble dry low. The recycled-polyester backbone helps the brief recover its shape after washing; tumble dry low preserves that recovery across many wear cycles. High heat can damage the elastic waistband and shrink the Merino fibers.
Bleach
Do not bleach. Bleach damages Merino wool fibers and degrades the recycled-polyester blend; it will also break down the elastic in the waistband.
Ironing & Decoration
Cool iron as needed. Do not iron decoration. The knit recovers from light wrinkles with steam or a cool iron; direct high heat on printed graphics or waistband logos will scorch the surface.
Dry Cleaning
Do not dry clean. The harsh solvents used in commercial dry cleaning strip the natural lanolin from Merino and degrade the recycled-polyester and elastic construction — both of which are core to the brief’s performance.
Storage
Store folded in a dry, breathable space. Merino’s natural odor resistance means you can wear the brief multiple days between washes — a key performance feature for multi-day trips, travel, and recovery days.

Merino Layer System — SW016995

Built For

Trail & Hike Days
All-Day
Long trail days where chafe and moisture decide whether you finish strong. The flatlock seams target inner-thigh hot spots, the double front panel stays in place under a pack’s hip-belt, and the Merino manages sweat across thousands of steps without the dampness that synthetic briefs build up.
Run & Bike
High-Output
Road runs, trail runs, and long bike rides where a standard brief becomes a liability by mile five. The 6" inseam prevents the legs from riding up on the leg stroke; the slim fit stays smooth under tights or a chamois; Merino handles the heat and moisture that synthetics trap against the skin.
Travel & Long Days
Multi-Day
Flights, layovers, and the next-day meeting where packing a fresh pair for each leg isn’t an option. Merino’s natural odor resistance keeps the brief fresh across multi-day trips; the wide elastic waistband doesn’t dig in on long sits; the slim fit layers cleanly under trousers for a smooth silhouette.
Climb & Active Days
High-Movement
Climbing days, gym sessions, and any movement-heavy activity where a standard brief shifts, rides, and ends up bunched under a harness’ leg-loop straps. The double front panel stays in place during high-output movement; flatlock seams hold up against the inner-thigh contact that climbing harnesses create.
Build The Stack

Layer It As Your First Layer

The Active Boxer Brief is the first layer in the system — the foundation everything else stacks on. Layer a Classic Thermal Merino Base Layer Bottom on top for deep-cold days, or wear the brief solo against a tee and shell for three-season activity.

  • Worn solo three-season first-layer wear
  • Under Classic Thermal Bottom deep-cold layering
  • Under hiking pants or shells skiing + climbing
  • Under gym shorts or tights high-output training
Complete The Kit

Build The Full System

The Active Boxer Brief is the lower-body first layer of a head-to-toe Merino system. Pair it with a Classic Thermal or Intraknit Crew on top, add Smartloft or hardshell over, and finish with a Hike sock at the foot — the foundation that decides whether the rest of the system feels good at hour six.

  • Merino base layer crew or 1/4 zip matched upper first-layer
  • Smartloft vest or insulated jacket core warmth
  • Windshell or hardshell weather protection
  • Hike sock foot half of the system

Prepared with intention.

Every product is carefully inspected and handled by our team before it ships. From fit and function to final details, we make sure each piece is ready for the outdoors ahead—so you can focus on the experience, not the gear.

Passion drives us

At SpokeX Bike Co., bikes aren't just our business — they’re our way of life. As a rider-owned and operated shop, every decision we make comes from firsthand experience on the trail, at the race, and on the open road. We know what it’s like to chase a new line, push through the pain cave, and celebrate the ride — because we live it every day.
