Children of the Pow Kids' Snowboard 2027

The CAPiTA Children Of The Pow snowboard series is designed as a powder-specific youth snowboard for the next generation. With a directional shape featuring a 2mm tapered tail (smaller than the men's powder boards but proportional for kids), radial sidecut, and a setback stance for powder float, the Children of the Pow is the kids' board for the young ripper who's ready to chase powder. Same durable construction as the Youth Brigade — Poplar + Beech core, SPECIAL BLEND fiberglass, XXX[TRUDED] extruded base — but with a directional shape built for soft snow.

Directional Shape (2mm Taper)
The Children of the Pow features a directional shape with a 2mm tapered tail (nose longer than tail — confirmed by 29/27, 29.5/27.5, 30/28 measurements). The tapered tail sinks deep in soft snow for natural float, while the wider nose planes on top of the snow. The directional shape, combined with the setback stance, provides the powder-specific performance that makes this board unique in the kids' line.
Kids-Specific SPECIAL BLEND™ Construction
This custom SPECIAL BLEND™ configuration makes for a more durable yet lightweight board while providing the flexibility for kids to play on fun stuff like park jumps, bumps and boxes. The Children of the Pow's construction is specifically tuned for young riders who want to charge powder — durable enough to handle the abuse of learning, flexible enough to make progression fun, and lightweight enough for smaller riders to maneuver easily in soft snow.
Poplar + Beech Core
Poppy lightweight Poplar core combined with Beech for increased power and durability. Newly reengineered to taper between the insert packs for a more forgiving flex. The Children of the Pow's core is built for the developing powder rider — the tapered between inserts provides a softer tip and tail for pressability and easier turn initiation while maintaining strength through the bindings for edge hold and stability in variable conditions.
XXX[TRUDED] Extruded Base
If there's one thing we know about kids and groms, it's that they can be hard on their gear and they're never going to wax their snowboard. The XXX[TRUDED] base material is a high density extruded base material that is durable and low maintenance. The relative surface strength equals a base that will withstand the abuse of learning to ride powder — built for kids who don't want to fuss with base care.

After Use
Wipe down the base with a dry cloth to remove snow and moisture. The Children of the Pow's durable construction handles the abuse of learning to ride powder — store the board in a cool, dry place with bindings loose or removed. The directional shape means the tail takes more wear than the nose — rotate or flip the board periodically to distribute wear evenly.
Base & Edge Maintenance
The XXX[TRUDED] extruded base is specifically designed for kids who don't wax — it's durable and low maintenance. The high density extruded construction is more damage-resistant than sintered bases, perfect for the abuse of learning to ride powder. The directional shape with tapered tail puts consistent pressure on the tail edge — sharpen both edges regularly to maintain directional performance in powder conditions.
Storage
Store the board flat or on its base in a board bag, away from direct sunlight and extreme heat. The Poplar + Beech core with SPECIAL BLEND fiberglass is stable but can be more sensitive to prolonged high temperatures than heavier boards — avoid leaving the board in a hot car or garage. The compact size makes it easy to store and transport.
Binding Compatibility
The Children of the Pow uses the standard 4x2 or 2x4 mounting pattern, compatible with all major kids' binding brands. The directional shape with tapered tail and setback stance means bindings should be mounted toward the tail (typically 1-2cm back from center) for proper directional performance and powder float. The soft-medium flex pairs well with soft kids' bindings (like the Burton Grom, Union Cadet, or NOW Junior). Built for the young rider who wants a powder-specific kids' board that handles soft snow with the same durability as the Youth Brigade.
