Extreme Tapered Directional Shape (36-38mm)
The Powder Glider features an extreme directional taper (36-38mm depending on size) — by far the most significant taper in the CAPiTA line. The dramatically tapered tail sinks deep in powder for natural float, while the wider nose planes effortlessly on top of the snow. The short, fat shape (26.3-27.7cm waist) combined with the extreme taper makes this board surf through powder like a surfboard — unmatched float and pivot-ability in deep snow.
Surflite 4.0 Core™
Replacing balsa with ultra wide zones of flyweight Paulownia, and premium Poplar, CAPiTA has managed to maintain the ultralight weight of the Surflite 4.0 Core™ while dramatically increasing its strength and durability. The Paulownia + Poplar blend delivers the float and maneuverability needed for powder surfing while standing up to the demands of aggressive riding. The result is a core that's light enough to float effortlessly but strong enough to charge.
Holysheet™ Fiberglass
HOLYSHEET™ Fiberglass configuration features fiber weaves with a high tensile strength and low modulus of elasticity. With a higher roving count in the same weight of glass, you can have a stronger and more responsive board without adding extra weight. The high-end fiberglass pairing ensures the Powder Glider can handle aggressive riding while keeping the ultralight weight needed for powder float.
PLT Topsheet Technology™
PLT Topsheet Technology™ is exclusive to CAPiTA MFG and magically bonds the topsheet to an already pressed snowboard. This produces a featherlight, smooth, high-gloss finish, without using any solvents or toxic lacquers in finishing. The lightweight topsheet is critical for the Powder Glider's surfy, ultralight feel — every gram matters when you're surfing deep snow.
Powder Drive™ Base
Dynamic and durable, easy to maintain and reliable, this base material is electric through the trees and fast over the flats. Featuring attributes of both sintered and extruded base material, the POWDER DRIVE™ base was exclusively formulated for the extra-wide chassis of the Spring Break Powder Div[ider] line. Custom-engineered for the short, fat, wide-body shape — fast, durable, and low-maintenance for the deep snow rider who doesn't want to fuss with base care.
Surf-Inspired Short, Fat Shape
The short effective edge (925-973mm — much shorter than typical boards) combined with the extra-wide waist creates a surf-inspired "fish" shape that pivots on a dime and planes effortlessly in deep snow. The single-radius sidecut (6.7-7.1m depending on size) provides smooth, consistent turns. After Use
Wipe down the base with a dry cloth to remove snow and moisture. The PLT Topsheet finish is durable and easy to clean — just a quick wipe with a dry cloth after each session. The Powder Glider's surfy construction is built for deep snow days — dry the board completely before storing to prevent any moisture damage to the Surflite core.
Base & Edge Maintenance
The Powder Drive base is custom-formulated for the extra-wide chassis and is easy to maintain — designed for the deep snow rider who doesn't want to fuss with base care. Wax regularly — every 4-6 days of riding, or whenever the base looks dry or white. The extreme taper and wide waist mean the effective edge is short — edges see less wear than a long board, so sharpening can be less frequent.
Storage
Store the board flat or on its base in a board bag, away from direct sunlight and extreme heat. The Surflite 4.0 Core with Paulownia + Poplar is ultralight but can be more sensitive to prolonged high temperatures than heavier cores — avoid leaving the board in a hot car or garage. The short, fat shape means it stores easily in most board bags.
Binding Compatibility
The Powder Glider uses the standard 4x2 or 2x4 mounting pattern, compatible with all major binding brands. The extra-wide waist (26.3-27.7cm) and short effective edge mean bindings should be mounted toward the tail (1-2cm back from center) for proper powder float and tail control. The soft-medium surfy flex pairs well with soft to medium-flex powder bindings (like the Union Atlas, Burton Cartel X, or NOW Drive). The surf-inspired shape is built for the rider who wants a playful, maneuverable powder board — not a directional charger.
