PLT Topsheet Technology™
PLT Topsheet Technology™ is exclusive to CAPiTA MFG and magically bonds the topsheet to an already pressed snowboard. This produces a featherlight, smooth, high-gloss finish, without using any solvents or toxic lacquers in finishing. Eco-friendly and lightweight — reduces overall board weight while maintaining the premium look and feel. Critical for the Navigator Split where every gram matters on the skin track.
Split-Specific Poplar/Paulownia Core
Premium weight-graded Poplar aligned with Paulownia and an ABS centerline resulting in a high-end split specific core. This core retains the primary poppiness of Poplar while remaining lightweight due to pressure-bonded dual-species wood core strips. The ABS centerline adds reinforcement along the split seam for durability and resistance to the stresses of repeated assembly/disassembly.
Holysheet™ Fiberglass
HOLYSHEET™ Fiberglass configuration features fiber weaves with a high tensile strength and low modulus of elasticity. With a higher roving count in the same weight of glass, you can have a stronger and more responsive board without adding extra weight. Pairs with the TECHNORA + Flax reinforcement for a powerful, damp ride.
TECHNORA™ + Flax Fiber Reinforcement
With an excellent tensile strength and fatigue resistance, TECHNORA™ is an aramid fiber that functions as a shock absorber and energy source when integrated into a snowboard construction layup. CAPiTA has interwoven TECHNORA™ with an extremely lightweight and all-natural Flax fiber to invigorate every ride with response and dampening — the best of both worlds for technical descents and variable backcountry conditions.
Custom Sintec Base (Race-Quality)
Exclusively formulated, sintered, ultra-high molecular weight, ultra-high density polyethylene, custom engineered with special additives. Rated for the most depraved speed junkies ONLY. This is CAPiTA's race-quality sintered base material — the fastest, most durable base in the CAPiTA line. Holds wax exceptionally well and is built to withstand the abuse of technical descents and variable backcountry snow.
Directional Tapered + 3-Stage Sidecut
Directional shape with significant taper (8.8-14mm depending on size) for powder float and quick turn initiation. The 3-stage sidecut (e.g., 7.3/6.2/7.3) provides progressive turn shapes — tighter in the center for quick edge-to-edge, wider at the contact points for stability at speed. The tapered tail sinks in powder for natural float, while the wider nose planes on top of the snow. Built for the sidecountry powder mission.

After Use
Wipe down the bases with a dry cloth to remove snow and moisture. Open the clips and separate the halves for thorough drying before reassembling — moisture trapped between the split interface can freeze and cause issues. Dry the board completely before storing to prevent damage to the interface and core. Apply a storage wax layer at the end of each season to prevent the custom sintec base from drying out.
Base & Edge Maintenance
The custom sintec base is CAPiTA's race-quality material — holds wax exceptionally well and is built for high-speed charging. Wax regularly — every 4-6 days of riding, or whenever the bases look dry or white. The TECHNORA + Flax reinforcement is stable but the Paulownia core strips can be more sensitive to extreme heat. The split interface and clips need periodic inspection — check for wear, corrosion, and proper alignment. Sharpen edges with a proper edge file or take to a shop at the first sign of dulling.
Storage
Store the board in ride mode (assembled) or tour mode (separated) with the interface clean and dry. Use a board bag for transport to protect the PLT Topsheet finish from scratches and UV damage. The Paulownia core strips are lightweight but can be more susceptible to impact damage than solid cores — handle with care during transport and transitions. Apply storage wax at the end of each season to protect the sintec base.
Interface & Binding Compatibility
The Navigator Split uses the standard splitboard insert pattern and is compatible with all major splitboard interface systems (Spark, Voile, Karakoram, Plum). The 2x4 insert pattern in each half accepts standard splitboard bindings. For optimal backcountry performance, pair with a splitboard binding system (like the Spark R&D Surge or Voile Light Rail) and matching climbing skins cut to the board's directional profile. The medium-stiff flex and directional tapered shape pair well with medium-stiff to stiff splitboard bindings for responsive descents.
