Alpine V1 Camber Profile
The ALPINE V1 Profile design features mid-body camber with a flat tail and a reverse cambered nose. This allows for tons of pop and stability on hard pack while increasing float and landing power, improving the rider's performance in deep snow. The camber runs longer in the tail — providing extra power and drive for charging — while the reverse cambered nose floats through pow and absorbs landings. Identical camber profile to the Mega Death for consistent ride feel between the solid and split versions.
Split-Specific Mega-Premium Core
Mega-premium Poplar graded by weight and consistency aligned with Paulownia, with an ABS centerline providing optimal strength to weight ratio. This high-end split-specific core achieves a signature feel by utilizing a higher volume of thinner pressure-bonded Paulownia wood core strips for an ultra-lightweight construction — every gram matters on the skin track. The ABS centerline adds reinforcement along the split seam for durability and resistance to the stresses of repeated assembly/disassembly.
Super Thin Matte Lamina Topsheet
Super thin yet durable matte lamina for 60% weight reduction over CAPiTA's regular topsheets. The Mega Split is built for the skin track — every gram counts when you're earning your turns. After Use
Wipe down the bases with a dry cloth to remove snow and moisture. Open the clips and separate the halves for thorough drying before reassembling — moisture trapped between the split interface can freeze and cause issues. Dry the board completely before storing to prevent damage to the interface and core. Apply a storage wax layer at the end of each season to prevent the MEGADRIVE base from drying out.
Base & Edge Maintenance
The MEGADRIVE™ base is CAPiTA's fastest and most premium base material. Wax regularly — every 4-6 days of riding, or whenever the bases look dry or white. The Moonshot Omni-Tune™ base structure is a race-tuned pattern that channels water away from the base — keep it clean and waxed for maximum speed. The split interface and clips need periodic inspection — check for wear, corrosion, and proper alignment. The Paulownia core strips are lightweight but can be more sensitive to impact damage than solid cores.
Storage
Store the board in ride mode (assembled) or tour mode (separated) with the interface clean and dry. Use a board bag for transport to protect the matte lamina topsheet from scratches and UV damage. The ultra-lightweight Paulownia core is light but can be more susceptible to impact damage than heavier cores — handle with care during transport and transitions. Apply storage wax at the end of each season.
Interface & Binding Compatibility
The Mega Split uses the standard splitboard insert pattern and is compatible with all major splitboard interface systems (Spark, Voile, Karakoram, Plum). The 2x4 insert pattern in each half accepts standard splitboard bindings. For optimal performance, pair with a lightweight splitboard binding system (like the Spark R&D Arc or Voile Light Rail) and matching climbing skins cut to the board's profile. The stiff flex and Alpine V1 camber pair well with medium-stiff to stiff splitboard bindings for responsive backcountry descents.
