Meatcrafter

Designed with purpose and built to last, the Meatcrafter sets a high bar for durability and performance in the world of hunting fixed blades — purpose-built for meat processing, camp cooking, trimming, and boning. The signature trailing-point blade geometry creates an upswept tip and a long, curved cutting edge optimized for the long sweeping strokes that define efficient butchering work, separating muscle from bone and skinning with control that drop-point blades can't match. The thin 0.09" blade profile prioritizes slicing performance over heavy impact tasks, gliding through meat with minimal resistance for cleaner cuts and less waste. At just 2.71 ounces, the Meatcrafter rides light on the belt through long processing sessions without causing fatigue. Paired with a rugged synthetic belt sheath, it's the kind of purpose-built hunting knife that disappears into the work until the cuts are done. Made in Benchmade's Oregon City facility and backed by the LifeSharp lifetime service program.

Trailing-Point Blade
Signature trailing-point profile with an upswept tip and long curved cutting edge. Optimized for the long sweeping strokes of meat processing — separating muscle from bone, skinning, and trimming with control that drop-point blades can't match.
Hunting Fixed Blade
Benchmade's purpose-built hunting fixed blade platform — designed specifically for meat processing, camp cooking, trimming, and boning after the hunt.
Slim Blade Profile
Thin 0.09" (2.29 mm) blade thickness prioritizes slicing performance over heavy impact tasks. Glides through meat with minimal resistance for cleaner cuts and less waste — the geometry hunters need for processing their harvest.
Lightweight Construction
At 2.71 oz, the Meatcrafter rides light on the belt through long processing sessions without causing hand or hip fatigue.
Contoured Grip Handle
Contoured handle with grippy texture for confident control through long butchering sessions — even in wet, bloody, and slippery conditions where ordinary handles would slip.
Synthetic Belt Sheath
Rugged synthetic belt sheath for safe carry and quick access at the hip. Weatherproof and low-maintenance — won't absorb moisture, blood, or oils the way leather can.
Made in USA
Manufactured at Benchmade's Oregon City, Oregon facility. American-made quality with rigorous tolerances and tight QC.
LifeSharp Lifetime Service
Benchmade's LifeSharp program covers free lifetime sharpening, cleaning, oiling, and re-calibration. Send or visit any Benchmade dealer — your knife comes back factory-sharp, for life.

Cleaning
Wipe the blade and handle with a soft, damp cloth after each use — especially after meat processing, where blood and tissue residue should be cleaned promptly to prevent corrosion and staining. For deeper cleaning, rinse under warm water with mild soap and dry thoroughly. Avoid prolonged moisture exposure, particularly on the handle and sheath.
Sheath Care
The synthetic sheath is low-maintenance by design. Wipe it down with a damp cloth and mild soap as needed; rinse and dry thoroughly. Synthetic sheaths don't require conditioning the way leather sheaths do, and they're resistant to weather, blood, and field oils. Inspect the retention and belt-loop attachment periodically for wear.
Sharpening
The Meatcrafter is covered by Benchmade's LifeSharp program: free lifetime professional sharpening, cleaning, oiling, and re-calibration. Send it in or visit any authorized Benchmade dealer. For field maintenance, use quality diamond or ceramic stones at the manufacturer's recommended angle — the thin trailing-point geometry sharpens easily with standard guided systems and rewards frequent touch-ups during long processing sessions.
Storage
Store the Meatcrafter clean and dry, ideally in its sheath for protection. After a hunting trip, give the blade a thorough cleaning and a light coat of rust-inhibiting oil or food-safe mineral oil before storage. Avoid storing in damp environments (basements, unheated sheds, vehicle trunks) for long periods.
Warranty & Service
All Benchmade knives are backed by the manufacturer's warranty against defects in materials and workmanship, plus the LifeSharp lifetime sharpening and maintenance program. Contact Benchmade directly or visit any authorized dealer for service.

Benchmade Product Block — Meatcrafter 4" — Draft
Where the Meatcrafter 4" Shines

Built for the Detail. Sized for the small game.

A scaled-down take on the Meatcrafter — same comfortable handle ergonomics and hybrid fixed-blade profile, but with a 4" trailing-point blade that's purpose-built for the finer, more precise cuts. Specifically designed for processing smaller animals and breasting out game birds and poultry, where the smaller blade is the right tool for delicate work around the breastbone.

01 — GAME BIRD PROCESSING

The right blade for breasting out a bird

The 4" trailing-point profile is purpose-built for the cuts around a game bird's breastbone — the precise work that demands a smaller, more controllable blade than the full-size Meatcrafter. CPM-154 stainless steel with SelectEdge factory geometry holds the edge through the cuts that bruise with a heavier knife.

Why it works here: 4" trailing-point profile reaches delicate cuts around the breastbone; thin SelectEdge edge handles precision work.

02 — SMALL GAME PROCESSING

The processing knife for the small harvest

For upland birds, waterfowl, rabbits, and other small game, the 4" Meatcrafter is the right knife — sized for the work, precise in the cuts, and lightweight enough to keep on the belt for a full day of hunting without slowing you down.

Why it works here: 4" blade is sized for small-game processing; Santoprene handle stays grippy when wet or covered in blood.

03 — BACKCOUNTRY KITCHEN

The camp chef's smaller blade

When the small game makes it to camp, the 4" Meatcrafter becomes the camp chef's prep knife — smaller cuts, finer slices, the kind of work that needs precision rather than length. Santoprene handle stays grippy in wet and cold, and the trailing-point profile reaches into tight spots.

Why it works here: Trailing-point profile handles precise cuts around bone and into tight spots; lightweight enough to keep on the belt all day.

04 — THE FINE WORK AFTER THE BIG WORK

The knife that finishes the detail

Where the 6" Meatcrafter handles the heavy trimming and slicing, the 4" is the knife that finishes the detail — silverskin work, delicate membrane cuts, the final trim that turns a processed carcass into something ready for the cooler. It's the no-limits hunt tool for the skilled hunter.

Why it works here: Pairs with the full-size Meatcrafter for the complete processing workflow; sheath retention holds through scrambles and pack-outs.

Benchmade Lineage

The Meatcrafter, scaled for detail

The 4" Meatcrafter keeps the comfortable handle ergonomics and hybrid fixed-blade profile of the full-size Meatcrafter, in a smaller blade package that's purpose-built for finer, more precise, and detailed work. Trailing-point CPM-154 stainless steel with SelectEdge factory geometry, Santoprene handle for wet-environment grip — engineered for the cuts that the 6" Meatcrafter is too much knife to handle. The right processing blade for small game, game birds, and the detail work after the big cuts are done.
