Fishcrafter 9"

Designed for processing the catch at scale — filleting, deboning, and breaking down larger fish from the day's haul — the 9" Fishcrafter is the longest-form blade in Benchmade's fish-processing fixed-blade lineup. The signature trailing-point blade geometry creates an upswept tip and a long, curved cutting edge optimized for the long sweeping strokes that follow a fish's spine from tail to head, separating the fillet cleanly from the ribcage in a single pass. The 9" cutting edge delivers the reach needed to handle larger fish — salmon, large trout, and saltwater species — while the thin 0.09" blade profile flexes along bones and under skin with minimal waste, leaving clean, presentation-ready fillets behind. At 3.7 ounces with a contoured, grippy handle and corrosion-resistant construction for saltwater and freshwater use, the 9" Fishcrafter rides confidently on the belt for serious cleaning sessions at the cleaning table or on the boat. Paired with a molded belt sheath for safe carry and quick access, it's the kind of purpose-built blade that disappears into the work until the fillets are off. Made in Benchmade's Oregon City facility and backed by the LifeSharp lifetime service program.

Trailing-Point Blade
Signature trailing-point profile with an upswept tip and long curved cutting edge. Optimized for the long sweeping strokes of fish processing — following the spine from tail to head, separating fillets cleanly from the ribcage in a single pass.
Fishing Fixed Blade
Benchmade's longest-form fish-processing fixed blade — designed specifically for filleting, deboning, and breaking down larger fish. The 9" counterpart to the standard Fishcrafter, sized for salmon, large trout, and saltwater species.
9" Cutting Edge
9.05" blade delivers the longest reach in the Benchmade fixed-blade lineup — sized for the largest filleting jobs on big-water species. Follows the spine of large fish in a single long stroke, reducing the number of cuts needed and leaving cleaner fillets behind.
Slim Blade Profile
Thin 0.09" (2.29 mm) blade thickness prioritizes slicing performance and flex for following bones cleanly. Glides through fish flesh with minimal resistance for clean, presentation-ready fillets and less waste.
Corrosion-Resistant Build
Premium corrosion-resistant stainless blade steel paired with high-traction handle scales shrugs off the rust and pitting that punish ordinary knives in saltwater, freshwater, and humid conditions.
Contoured Grip Handle
Contoured handle with grippy texture for confident control through long cleaning sessions — even in wet, slimy, and slippery conditions where ordinary handles would slip.
Molded Belt Sheath
Molded belt sheath for safe carry and quick access at the hip. Weatherproof and low-maintenance — won't absorb moisture, fish slime, or oils the way leather can.
Made in USA
Manufactured at Benchmade's Oregon City, Oregon facility. American-made quality with rigorous tolerances and tight QC.
LifeSharp Lifetime Service
Benchmade's LifeSharp program covers free lifetime sharpening, cleaning, oiling, and re-calibration. Send or visit any Benchmade dealer — your knife comes back factory-sharp, for life.

Cleaning
Rinse thoroughly with fresh water after exposure to saltwater — salt is the enemy of any knife, even corrosion-resistant ones. Wipe the blade and handle with a soft, damp cloth after each use — especially after fish processing, where fish slime and residue should be cleaned promptly to prevent corrosion and staining. For deeper cleaning, use mild soap and water, then dry thoroughly.
Sheath Care
The molded sheath is low-maintenance by design. Wipe it down with a damp cloth and mild soap as needed; rinse and dry thoroughly. Molded sheaths don't require conditioning the way leather sheaths do, and they're resistant to weather, fish slime, and field oils. Inspect the retention and belt-loop attachment periodically for wear.
Sharpening
The 9" Fishcrafter is covered by Benchmade's LifeSharp program: free lifetime professional sharpening, cleaning, oiling, and re-calibration. Send it in or visit any authorized Benchmade dealer. For field maintenance, use quality diamond or ceramic stones at the manufacturer's recommended angle — the long, thin trailing-point geometry sharpens easily with standard guided systems and rewards frequent touch-ups during long cleaning sessions.
Storage
Store the 9" Fishcrafter clean and dry, ideally in its sheath for protection. After a day on the water, rinse with fresh water, dry thoroughly, and lightly oil the blade before storage. Avoid storing in damp environments (boat lockers, tackle bags, vehicle trunks) for long periods — even corrosion-resistant steel benefits from dry storage.
Warranty & Service
All Benchmade knives are backed by the manufacturer's warranty against defects in materials and workmanship, plus the LifeSharp lifetime sharpening and maintenance program. Contact Benchmade directly or visit any authorized dealer for service.

Benchmade Product Block — Fishcrafter — Draft
Where the Fishcrafter Shines

Built for the Catch. Sized for the day's fish.

A 9" trailing-point fishing fixed-blade designed around the theory of "Fish more, sharpen less." MagnaCut stainless steel with SelectEdge factory geometry, Santoprene handle scales for wet-environment grip. The Fishcrafter is the long-edge fillet knife for medium to large fish where extra length makes for a smooth, clean cut.

01 — FRESHWATER FILLETING

The longer the fish, the better the Fishcrafter

The Fishcrafter's 9" trailing-point blade is built for medium to large fish where the extra blade length makes for a smooth, clean fillet cut. Long flat edge keeps the cuts stable, the upswept tip reaches the right curves, and the slim Santoprene handle stays controllable through a full cleaning session.

Why it works here: 9" trailing-point profile handles long filleting cuts in one stroke; SelectEdge factory edge minimizes sharpening mid-session.

02 — SALTWATER AND BOAT WORK

The knife that handles the spray and the sun

On a saltwater boat or at the cleaning station, the Fishcrafter takes the conditions that destroy lesser knives. MagnaCut stainless steel resists corrosion in saltwater and humid environments, and the Santoprene handle stays grippy when wet, slimy, or covered in fish scales.

Why it works here: MagnaCut stainless steel resists saltwater corrosion; Santoprene handle stays grippy wet.

03 — CAMP FILLETING AND PREP

The camp chef's fish knife

When the catch comes off the water and onto the cleaning table, the Fishcrafter's longer blade handles the cuts that shorter knives struggle with — full fillet cuts from head to tail in one pass, the kind of work that's hard to do well with a folding knife or a small fixed blade.

Why it works here: Long blade profile handles single-pass filleting cuts; upswept tip reaches tight spots around the head and bones.

04 — THE WATER COLLECTION

The fillet knife that lives with the gear

The Fishcrafter is part of Benchmade's Water Collection — built to stay out longer and go deeper. MagnaCut stainless steel handles the corrosion challenges of marine environments, the slim profile stays light on the belt or in the boat bag, and the performance holds up across fishing seasons.

Why it works here: Slim profile fits in a boat bag or fishing vest; Water Collection build stands up to marine environments.

Benchmade Lineage

The fillet knife, refined

The Fishcrafter is Benchmade's long-edge fishing fixed-blade — 9" trailing-point profile, MagnaCut stainless steel with SelectEdge factory geometry, slim Santoprene handle for wet-environment grip. Part of the Water Collection, built around the idea that the fillet knife should be the last tool you worry about on the water. Long flat edge for fillet stability, upswept tip for deboning, slim handle for control — the fillet knife refined for the way anglers actually clean fish.
