"Built for women who ski hard" — the Mindbender 85 W BOA is built for "advancing freeriders who want support, control, and the confidence to take the boot anywhere." 11 sizes cover US women's 5–10 (mondopoint 22.5–27.5). "The same versatile Mindbender tech in a more forgiving 85 flex" — the softer flex vs. the 95/105 makes the 85 more accessible for progressing women skiers.
Component Breakdown
BOA® Fit System
"BOA® micro-adjustability for an effortless wrap" — the BOA dial closure system delivers micro-adjustable, even pressure distribution across the instep and forefoot. Steel lace, polymer guides, and a polymer dial for long-term durability. Quick on/off — twist to tighten, pull out to release. The BOA system is more consistent than traditional buckles and won't loosen during a long ski day.
Women's-Specific Fit
"Women's-specific fit" — the Mindbender 85 W BOA is built around women's specific foot shapes (typically narrower heel, higher arch, lower instep than men's). The shell height, instep height, and ankle circumference are all proportionally smaller than the men's version. The women's-specific fit reduces heel lift and improves overall comfort on long ski days.
85 Flex (Forgiving)
"The same versatile Mindbender tech in a more forgiving 85 flex" — the 85 flex is the softest in the women's Mindbender boot lineup, making it the most accessible for progressing women skiers. Stiff enough for advanced intermediate skiers to push, soft enough to be forgiving for developing technique. The 85 flex is a sweet spot for women who want Mindbender tech without the aggressive flex of the 95 or 105.
Lightweight Touring Construction
"Take the boot anywhere—on-piste, off-piste, or up the skin track" — the Mindbender 85 W BOA is built light enough to handle the skin track without being a dedicated AT boot. The Powerlight shell and lightweight construction keep the weight down for occasional touring days, while still being responsive enough for resort charging.
Versatile Mindbender Tech
"The same versatile Mindbender tech" — the 85 W BOA uses K2's Mindbender boot platform, which includes features like the Powerlight shell, BOA fit system, and a heat-moldable liner. The platform is designed to work across all-mountain conditions, from groomers to soft snow, without needing a second boot.
Heat-Moldable Liner
The Mindbender 85 W BOA comes with a heat-moldable liner that can be customized by a certified bootfitter using a boot oven. The molding process softens the liner foam temporarily so it conforms to your foot shape, then sets as it cools. The result is a custom fit without the cost of a fully custom boot.
More Forgiving Than 95/105
"More forgiving 85 flex" — the 85 flex is the softest in the women's Mindbender boot lineup. If you're a progressing skier who wants the Mindbender platform but doesn't need the aggressive flex of the 95 or 105, the 85 is the boot. The softer flex is more forgiving of imperfect technique while still delivering the response you need for advancing your skills.
Four-Terrain Versatility
Best for: Powder, Touring, Big Mountain, Speed — the Mindbender 85 W BOA is built for "advancing freeriders who want support, control, and the confidence to take the boot anywhere." "On-piste, off-piste, or up the skin track" — one boot that handles resort charging, backcountry laps, and everything in between.
