K2 Reckoner KF Unisex Skis 2027

The K2 Reckoner KF is the brainchild of Karl Fostvedt himself and is designed for advanced skiers who demand the best. With a soft flex and twin-tip shape, this ski is perfect for hitting big jumps, deep landings, and a playful approach to the biggest lines on the mountain. Featuring K2 Carbon Braided cores, Uni-Directional Flax, and Spectral Braid, the Reckoner KF is the premium choice for freestyle skiers looking to push their limits. Built for the rider who wants a pro-level freestyle ski that's playful enough to butter, stable enough to charge, and poppy enough to send the biggest features on the mountain.

Brainchild of Karl Fostvedt
"The K2 Reckoner KF is the brainchild of Karl Fostvedt himself" — the Reckoner KF is K2's signature pro-level freestyle ski, designed in collaboration with Karl Fostvedt, one of the most creative and progressive freestyle skiers in the world. Fostvedt's input shaped the ski's personality — playful, poppy, and built to handle the biggest lines on the mountain with confidence and style.
Soft Flex and Twin-Tip Shape
"With a soft flex and twin-tip shape" — the Reckoner KF features a soft flex pattern that makes it easy to butter, press, and play around on the mountain, while the twin-tip shape allows for switch riding and landing switch on jumps. The combination is built for the freestyle-focused skier who wants a playful, forgiving ski that still performs at the highest level.
Big Jumps and Deep Landings
"This ski is perfect for hitting big jumps, deep landings, and a playful approach to the biggest lines on the mountain" — the Reckoner KF is built to handle the demands of big-mountain freestyle skiing. The ski is stable at high speeds, predictable in deep landings, and poppy enough to send the biggest features with confidence.
K2 Carbon Braided Cores
"Featuring K2 Carbon Braided cores" — the Reckoner KF uses K2's Carbon Braided core technology, which wraps carbon fiber in a braided pattern for optimal strength-to-weight ratio. The result is a ski that's light, snappy, and responsive — perfect for the freestyle skier who wants quick edge-to-edge transitions and explosive pop.
Uni-Directional Flax and Spectral Braid
"Uni-Directional Flax, and Spectral Braid" — the Reckoner KF combines K2's Uni-Directional Flax (natural flax fibers for dampening and vibration absorption) with Spectral Braid (variable-angle carbon braid) for a ski that absorbs chatter, holds an edge, and delivers a smooth, planted feel at speed. The combination is the premium choice for freestyle skiers looking to push their limits.

Base Care
Wax the Reckoner KF every 4-6 days of riding (or sooner if the base looks dry or white). Use a temperature-appropriate wax for the conditions — colder wax for winter, warmer wax for spring. Regular waxing protects the base, improves glide, and extends the life of the ski.
Edge Care
Check the edges periodically for burrs, dings, or rust. Use a gummy stone to deburr the edges after contact with rocks, and file the edges to maintain sharpness — base and side edge angles of 1° and 2° respectively is a good starting point. Re-tune the edges at the end of each season or as needed.
Storage
Store the Reckoner KF in a cool, dry place when not in use. Avoid leaning the skis directly on their edges or tips — use a ski rack or lay them flat. Keep the bindings free of snow and ice, and loosen the bindings slightly during long-term storage. The Carbon Braided core and Spectral Braid are designed to last, but proper storage extends the life of the ski.
Repair
For significant base damage (deep scratches, gouges, or delamination), take the Reckoner KF to a professional ski shop for repair. K2's premium construction is built to last, but a professional repair can extend the life of a damaged ski. The Carbon Braided core is engineered for durability, but major impacts should be inspected.

Fostvedt's input shaped the ski's personality — playful, poppy, and built to handle the biggest lines on the mountain.
K2 Carbon Braided Core
"Featuring K2 Carbon Braided cores" — the Carbon Braided core wraps carbon fiber in a braided pattern for optimal strength-to-weight ratio. The result is a ski that's light, snappy, and responsive — perfect for the freestyle skier who wants quick edge-to-edge transitions and explosive pop.
Uni-Directional Flax
"Uni-Directional Flax" — natural flax fibers integrated in a uni-directional layup for vibration absorption and dampening. The flax layers absorb chatter at high speeds and on hard landings, giving the ski a smooth, planted feel without sacrificing the snappy response of the carbon braid.
Spectral Braid
"Spectral Braid" — variable-angle carbon braid that varies the fiber orientation along the length of the ski. The result is a ski that tunes torsion and flex separately — the tip and tail can be softer for buttering and presses while the midbody stays solid for edge hold and stability at speed.
K2 Quality
Built by K2 — one of the most trusted names in skiing — the Reckoner KF reflects the company's commitment to innovation, quality, and pro-level performance. The Carbon Braided core, Uni-Directional Flax, and Spectral Braid are the premium choice for freestyle skiers looking to push their limits.
