K2 Program Unisex Snowboard Bindings

The K2 Program snowboard binding is a high-performance binding for the advanced-to-expert level snowboarder looking to take care of mother nature, without sacrificing performance. A 50% Glass filled nylon chassis is surrounded with castor-bean based materials, with a goal of reducing the size of a binding's carbon footprint. By utilizing eco-conscious and recycled materials instead of plastics and EVA, K2 has made significant strides in sustainability. The manufacturing process relies on over 40% solar-powered energy, and the packaging is FSC certified, utilizing cardboard and recycled paper instead of plastics. As a result, K2 has achieved impressive reductions in their binding footprints – it's not perfect, but it's a click in the right direction.

50% Glass-Filled Nylon Chassis
"A 50% Glass filled nylon chassis is surrounded with castor-bean based materials" — the glass-reinforced nylon baseplate is stiff, responsive, and built to drive hard lines. The castor-bean (bio-based) materials replace traditional plastics, reducing the binding's carbon footprint without sacrificing structural performance.
Module Chassis Baseplate
K2's Module Chassis is engineered to let the board flex naturally underfoot while keeping the binding-to-board contact area rigid. The result is a responsive platform that doesn't fight the board's natural flex pattern — power where you want it, forgiveness where you need it.
FR1 Highback with Forward Lean Block
The FR1 (Freeride) highback is built for charging — a tall, supportive profile that drives power down through the heel edge. The Forward Lean Block allows tool-free adjustment of forward lean angle so you can dial in the response for steeps, trees, or open bowls without taking the binding off the board.
DD1 Ankle Strap + MultiMount
The DD1 ankle strap is K2's most responsive ankle strap — dense, supportive construction that locks the boot in for big landings and high-speed carves. The MultiMount Ankle Strap Mount Points let you choose from four different positions to fine-tune the strap's feel: more wrap, more lateral support, or a more surfy feel depending on your style.
BetterWrap Toe Strap
The BetterWrap toe strap can be worn over the top of the boot toe or across the toe box — whichever position locks your boot down better. The flexible construction conforms to the boot shape and the ladder stays out of the way for a clean, even pressure distribution.
3° Canted Sugarcane EVA Footbed
"3° Canted Sugarcane EVA Footbed with Eco-Harshmellow Pods" — the 3° canting matches the natural angle of your legs on the board, reducing knee strain and fatigue. The Sugarcane EVA replaces petroleum-based foam, and the Eco-Harshmellow pods under the heel and ball of the foot absorb chatter and big-impact landings.
Aluminum Ratchets
"Aluminum Ratchets" — the ratchets are the part of the binding that takes the most abuse, so K2 spec'd the Program with aluminum instead of plastic. Better durability, smoother click-in feel, and longer service life on the binding's most-worn component.
Multi-Compatible Disc
The Multi-Compatible Disc accepts 4x4, 2-hole, and The Channel mounting patterns, so the Program fits virtually any snowboard on the market. No need to worry about binding compatibility when pairing the Program with a new board.
Solar-Powered Manufacturing + FSC Packaging
"Our manufacturing process relies on over 40% solar-powered energy, and our packaging is FSC certified, utilizing cardboard and recycled paper instead of plastics" — the Program is one of K2's most eco-conscious bindings, with manufacturing powered by 40%+ solar and packaging that's 100% recyclable. Lower carbon footprint, no plastic in the box.

Drying
After each session, loosen the ratchets and remove the boot so the binding can air-dry fully. Store in a warm, dry place — never leave a wet binding in a cold car or garage, as trapped moisture can corrode the aluminum ratchets and degrade the Sugarcane EVA footbed over time.
Strap Care
Rinse DD1 ankle and BetterWrap toe straps with fresh water if exposed to salt or dirty snow. Avoid leaving straps cinched tight for long-term storage — the constant tension can deform the ladder and ratchet engagement over time. Periodically check the MultiMount screws for tightness, especially after aggressive riding.
Disc + Hardware Check
The Multi-Compatible Disc should be checked at the start of each season — verify all four mounting screws are torqued to manufacturer spec. Inspect the disc for cracks or deformation, especially if the binding has taken a hard impact. Replace any stripped hardware immediately to prevent the binding from loosening mid-run.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. UV exposure degrades the castor-bean based chassis materials and Sugarcane EVA footbed over time. Loosen all straps and the forward lean block before long-term storage. Keep the original FSC-certified packaging for off-season storage to protect the binding from dust and impact.
