K2 Mindbender Juvy BOA Ski Boots

A real freeride boot for younger rippers ready to explore the backcountry. The Mindbender Juvy BOA® brings real walk mode, durable construction, and BOA® micro-adjustability to junior skiers chasing fresh tracks and bigger lines. Everything a budding freerider needs to take their skills from the resort to the backcountry and back again—without outgrowing the boot's ambition.

BOA® Fit System
"Thanks to the BOA® system, tightening is quick, easy, and micro-adjustable, for uniform support without pressure points" — the BOA dial delivers glove-friendly on-the-fly adjustments and even pressure distribution across the forefoot. Junior riders can dial in a precise fit without the hassle of traditional buckles, and the system stays snug through aggressive skiing without loosening.
Powerlite Shell
"Lightweight and responsive Powerlite shell" — the Powerlite construction uses a proprietary shell molding process that reduces weight without sacrificing performance. For junior skiers, lighter boots mean easier walking, less leg fatigue on long days, and more energy for skiing. The Powerlite shell is also fully thermoformable for a custom fit that adapts to the rider's foot shape over time.
Pebax® Cuff
The Pebax cuff delivers responsive flex and consistent performance in cold temperatures — Pebax maintains its flex characteristics in freezing conditions where traditional plastics stiffen up. Combined with the Powerlite shell, the Pebax cuff gives the Juvy a progressive flex pattern that helps junior skiers progress from groomers to off-piste terrain.
LuxFit™ Tour Jr Liner
"The LuxFit Tour Jr liner provides warmth, comfort, and lightness" — the LuxFit Tour Jr is a junior-specific liner designed for touring and all-day comfort. The lightweight construction keeps boot weight down while the heat-moldable foam conforms to the rider's foot for a personalized fit. The liner also integrates with the BOA shell closure for a secure, even wrap.
50° Walk Mode (Powerlock Spyne)
"The Powerlock Spyne system... offers 50° of range of motion in walk mode" — the 50° ROM is the most generous in any junior boot, making skin tracks and boot-packs manageable for younger legs. The Powerlock Spyne mechanism is durable and easy to engage — flip the switch to walk, flip back to ski. This is the same walk mode tech used in K2's adult Mindbender line, so juniors get a real touring experience, not a compromised afterthought.
Fastfit Instep
"The Fastfit instep makes it easy to get your foot in and out" — junior riders (and parents helping them gear up) appreciate a boot that's easy to get into. The Fastfit instep opens the boot up for easy entry, then closes snugly when the BOA system is tightened. Less wrestling with the boot means more time on the hill.
GripWalk + Tech Inserts
"GripWalk ISO 23223 soles ensure a more natural walk and better grip, while integrated technical inserts guarantee full compatibility with alpine and touring bindings" — the Juvy is a true quiver-of-one boot for junior skiers. GripWalk soles work with any alpine binding (alpine, GripWalk, MNC), and the integrated tech inserts accept pin/hybrid touring bindings. Whether the kid is ripping groomers at the resort or starting to skin up on the skin track, the same boot does both.

Drying
After each session, open the BOA dial fully to release tension and remove the LuxFit Jr liner to air-dry separately. Store the boot in a warm, dry place — never in a cold car or damp gear bag, as trapped moisture can degrade the Intuition® foam and the Pebax® cuff's performance. Open the Powerlock Spyne walk mode lever to keep the mechanism from binding in ski position during storage.
Liner Care
The LuxFit™ Tour Jr liner is heat-moldable — most riders get a custom fit at their local boot fitter after 5-10 days of riding. Hand-wash the liner with lukewarm water and mild soap if needed, then air-dry completely. Never machine wash or tumble dry — the heat and agitation can damage the foam structure. A cedar block or boot dryer in each boot overnight keeps the liners fresh and odor-free.
BOA® Dial Maintenance
The BOA dial system is low-maintenance but benefits from occasional care. If a dial feels gritty or doesn't click smoothly, pop the dial off and clear any ice or debris from the dial and lace channel. The BOA laces are steel-coated and built to last — don't trim them unless they're significantly long, and never lubricate the dial mechanism (it runs dry). Contact K2 or BOA directly for replacement parts.
Shell + Cuff Care
The Powerlite shell and Pebax® cuff are durable but benefit from occasional care. Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth to remove dirt and salt after ski days. Avoid storing the boots in extreme heat (car trunks in summer) which can delaminate the shell. For long-term storage, buckle the boots loosely and store in a boot bag to protect from dust and impact. The GripWalk soles should be checked periodically for wear and replaced at a boot fitter when the tread is worn smooth.

The Mindbender Juvy BOA® comes in 7 junior sizes — 22.5, 23.5, 24.5, 25.5, 26.5, 27.5, 28.5 (Mondo point). Product weight is 1,640g at size 24.5 (from K2's spec sheet). Size to your child's current Mondo measurement — the Powerlite shell and LuxFit Jr liner are both thermoformable, so the boot will adapt as the foot grows over a season or two. The 100mm last is average-volume for juniors, suitable for most foot shapes without hotspots. The fully thermoformable shell and cuff mean a local boot fitter can customize the fit for a kid with high arches, wide forefeet, or other specific volume needs. The adjustable 80/90 flex also lets you tune the boot to the skier's size and ability — softer for learning, stiffer as they progress.
