K2 Far Out Unisex Splitboard Snowboard Bindings 2027

Every splitboarder knows the best turns usually are not found inside the resort boundaries. The K2 Far Out splitboard binding is built to help you access your favorite backcountry terrain and minimize the time spent transitioning to and from split and descent modes. Built to take you wherever the best snow lives — a touring-focused binding designed for efficient transitions and reliable downhill performance, so you can spend more time riding and less time fiddling with hardware.

Built To Take You Wherever The Best Snow Lives
"Built To Take You Wherever The Best Snow Lives" — the Far Out is designed for the backcountry rider who goes where the snow is best, not where the lift lines are. Whether you're skinning into a remote peak, hitting a sidecountry stash, or going on a multi-day tour, the Far Out is built to get you there and back with confidence.
Minimize Transition Time
"Minimize the time spent transitioning to and from split and descent modes" — the Far Out's binding hardware and touring mode are designed to be quick and easy to operate in the field. The faster the transition, the more time you spend riding and the less time you spend in the cold fiddling with hardware. Built for the rider who values efficiency on the skin track and the descent.
Split-Specific Construction
The Far Out is purpose-built for splitboarding, not a resort binding adapted for touring. The construction includes a touring mode (for skinning), a descent mode (for riding), and a quick transition between the two. The baseplate, highback, and straps are all designed to handle the demands of backcountry riding, with the durability and reliability needed for multi-day tours.
Reliable Downhill Performance
The Far Out isn't just about getting to the top — it's about riding back down with confidence. The highback, baseplate, and straps are designed to deliver the response and support needed for technical descents, steep lines, and variable backcountry snow. Built for the rider who wants a touring binding that doesn't compromise on descent performance.
K2 Quality
Built by K2 — one of the most trusted names in snowboarding — the Far Out reflects the company's commitment to innovation, quality, and backcountry progression. The split-specific construction and touring-focused design make the Far Out a staple of K2's splitboard lineup.

Binding Care
After each tour, wipe down the Far Out's baseplate, highback, and straps with a damp cloth to remove snow, ice, and debris. The split-specific hardware (touring brackets, climbing wires, descent-mode locks) requires extra attention — keep all moving parts clean of snow and ice for smooth operation. The binding hardware is designed to be field-serviceable for adjustments and minor repairs.
Split Hardware
The split-mode hardware (climbing wires, touring brackets, pucks) is the most important maintenance item — inspect it before each tour for wear or damage. Keep the hardware clean and lubricated as recommended by K2. If any hardware becomes damaged or worn, contact K2 for replacement parts before your next tour. Don't ride with compromised split hardware — the consequences of failure in the backcountry are serious.
Strap and Ratchet Care
The Far Out's straps and ratchets are designed for the demands of backcountry riding — but inspect them periodically for wear. Keep the ratchets and ladders clear of snow and ice for smooth operation. The ladder straps can be replaced if they become worn or frayed. The binding hardware is designed to be user-serviceable for field adjustments.
Storage
Store the Far Out in a cool, dry place when not in use. Avoid leaving the bindings in direct sunlight for extended periods — UV exposure can degrade the plastics and straps over time. Keep the binding hardware clean and dry during long-term storage. If storing for an extended period, loosen the straps to prevent compression damage.
