Waxing
Wax every few riding days or any time the base looks dry, white, or slow. Young riders put their boards through a lot of abuse, so regular waxing keeps the base performing and protected. Hot wax preferred for full saturation, rub-on for quick field top-ups.
Edge Tuning
Sharpen edges with a file or stone when they feel dull, after hitting rocks, or at the start of each season. For a kids' board, a slightly more detuned setup helps prevent the edges from catching during the learning process.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Keep it in a board bag or sleeve to protect the topsheet and base from scratches during transport and storage.
Growth Replacement
K2 Lil Mini boards come in 6+ sizes to accommodate growth — replace the board with the next size up as your grom outgrows the current length. Most kids go through 2-3 board sizes before moving to adult-length boards.
Repairs
Wipe the base clean after each use and dry it before storing. Repair base scratches and core shots promptly to prevent water damage. The Noodle Construction is durable for a kids' board, but regular maintenance extends its life through multiple seasons of use.
