Technology

Circular Design
TNF's sustainability program — assembled to be more easily broken down and turned into new gear at the end of its usable life
Cleaning
Machine wash cold (30 °C) on a gentle cycle with a mild technical or color-safe detergent. Turn the jacket inside out before washing to protect the embroidered logos on the left chest and back-right shoulder, and to reduce pilling on the 165 g/m² 100% recycled polyester knit. Avoid bleach, fabric softener, and stain remover — these degrade the recycled polyester and can damage the mechanical-stretch binding on the cuffs.
Drying
Tumble dry on low heat or hang to dry. Low tumble heat is gentle enough to refresh the recycled-polyester knit without shrinking the mechanical-stretch binding on the collar, cuffs, and hem. High heat is the #1 enemy of mechanical-stretch binding — it can permanently set or shrink the binding, tightening the fit at the edges. Remove promptly and shake the fleece to restore its loft.
100% Recycled Polyester Fleece Body
The 75D 165 g/m² recycled polyester fleece is the same warm, breathable knit as standard fleece — recycled content doesn't compromise durability or warmth. The knit can pill at high-friction zones (inner forearms where a backpack hip-belt sits, side panels where the arms rub). Wash inside-out on a gentle cycle to extend surface life. Light surface pills are cosmetic — trim with sharp scissors if they bother you.
Mechanical-Stretch Binding (Collar, Cuffs, Hem)
The reinforced mechanical-stretch binding on the collar, cuffs, and hem gives a comfortable, secure edge finish — the mechanical stretch (woven, not knit) holds its recovery across years of wear, unlike elastane which degrades with heat. Inspect the binding periodically — if it starts to separate from the body knit at the seam, hand-stitch it back down or take it to TNF's repair service.
Reverse-Coil Quarter Zip with Cord Puller
The reverse-coil center front quarter zip uses finer teeth that lay flat — better for layering under shells and packs than a chunky zipper. The cord puller gives leverage when the zipper is hard to grasp (with gloves on, when the zip is at your chest). Brush the teeth with a soft toothbrush to clear grit, and lubricate sparingly with silicone-based lubricant if the slider stiffens. Don't force the slider past its stops.
Embroidered Logos (Left Chest + Back-Right Shoulder)
The embroidered logo on the left chest and the back-right shoulder is stitched into the fleece, not printed. Embroidery is more durable than heat transfers but can snag on rocks, ice tools, and pack zippers. Inspect periodically for loose threads and clip them with sharp scissors to prevent unraveling.
Pocket Lining (50D 90 g/m² Recycled Polyester)
The pocket lining uses a lighter-weight recycled polyester than the body — designed to be smooth against hands. Wipe the lining with a damp cloth if it picks up lint or skin flakes; the pocket lining tolerates gentle hand-washing but machine agitation can wear it down faster than the body fabric.
Circular Design End-of-Life
This is one of TNF's Circular Design styles — assembled specifically so the jacket can be more easily broken down and turned into new gear at the end of its usable life. Follow TNF's take-back program instructions rather than discarding the jacket. Don't attempt to disassemble the jacket yourself to recover materials.
Layering Use
The lightweight, layerable Glacier fleece is designed to wear over a base layer in cool weather or under a shell jacket in colder weather. The slim mechanical-stretch binding at the cuffs and hem layers cleanly under shell sleeves without bunching. The reverse-coil quarter zip stays flat under chin straps and pack straps — no chunky zip to press against your chin.
Town-to-Trail Wear
The Glacier Fleece is designed for town-to-trail wear — the embroidered logos and clean lines make it appropriate for everyday and casual wear, while the 165 g/m² fleece body provides enough warmth for trail use on cool mornings. The reverse-coil zipper is intentionally understated for the same reason. Refresh the fleece between town and trail uses; rotate between two fleeces when possible.
Storage
Fold and store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight with the zip closed. UV exposure fades the face fabric and degrades the mechanical-stretch binding over time. Don't compress the fleece under heavy gear for long periods — the mechanical-stretch binding can permanently deform when crushed. Confirm the jacket is fully dry before storage to prevent mildew in the knit interior and the pocket lining.
