And when things heat up, they can pack the jacket into its hand pocket, ready to throw into a bag when it's no longer needed.

2.5L seam-sealed DryVent™ shell — engineered to be waterproof, windproof, and breathable, shielding from rain and wind on changeable trail days while the 2.5-layer construction keeps weight and pack size to a minimum for teen hikers carrying their own kit.
Seam-Sealed Construction
Seam-sealed throughout to prevent water from seeping through the stitch lines — fully waterproof protection in steady rain, not just water-resistant, so a wet hike doesn't turn into a soaked kid.
FlashDry™ Moisture Management
FlashDry™ fabrics are engineered to wick moisture away from skin to keep you dry, cool, and comfortable — moves sweat off the body quickly so kids stay comfortable during high-output sections of the trail and don't get chilled from accumulated moisture.
Helmet-Compatible Hood
Helmet-compatible hood fits over climbing and bike helmets without binding — also cinches down for everyday wear around camp and on the trail when no helmet is needed.
Packs Into Hand Pocket
Packs into its own hand pocket for compact stowage — turns the jacket into a self-contained stuff pouch that can be tossed into a daypack, attached to a harness with a carabiner, or clipped to the outside of a larger pack when not needed.

Standard fit is true to size for an easy, comfortable fit — no need to size up for layering room, and the cut works equally well over a baselayer alone or with a fleece mid-layer underneath in colder conditions.

Washing
Machine wash at 40°C or below with similar colors. Wash as often as necessary to remove impurities like sweat, dirt, campfire smoke, and cooking odors — buildup of body oils and smoke residue degrades the DryVent™ membrane's breathability and the FlashDry™ wicking performance over time.
Prep Before Washing
Before cleaning, turn the jacket inside out and close all Velcro® fastenings and zippers — prevents accidental snags on the seam-sealed construction and protects the zipper teeth from damage during the wash cycle.
Detergent
Use a mild, non-flake detergent (not liquid) for best results — flake-style technical cleaners rinse out cleanly and don't leave residue that can clog the DryVent™ membrane pores. Avoid bleach, fabric softeners, and standard liquid detergents, which coat the membrane and reduce waterproof breathability.
Drying
Tumble dry low heat to reactivate the durable water-repellent finish on the outer face fabric — moderate heat helps the DWR bond back to the face fibers. Alternatively, hang dry at room temperature. Don't use high heat which can damage the DryVent™ membrane and seam tape.
DWR Refresh
Re-apply a DWR treatment (spray-on or wash-in technical re-proofer) when water stops beading on the surface — the outer face fabric's water repellency wears off with use, and refreshing it keeps the membrane from getting saturated and reduces internal condensation.
Storage
Store hanging or loosely folded in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Avoid long-term compression in a stuff sack — the 2.5L membrane and seam tape can develop compression damage over time. Keep clean before storing to prevent body oils from degrading the membrane.
