Washing
Machine wash cold with similar colors. Turn inside out to protect the printed Half Dome logo and reduce pilling on the fleece face. Use a mild detergent — avoid bleach and fabric softeners, which can degrade the cotton-poly fleece fibers and the printed logo over time.
Drying
Tumble dry low or hang dry. The cotton-poly fleece dries quickly on the line — air drying extends the life of the ribbed cuffs and hem elastic and preserves the printed logo. Remove promptly from the dryer to prevent heat-set wrinkles.
Pilling Care
Cotton-poly fleece can pill with frequent wear — remove pills with a fabric shaver or sweater comb periodically to maintain appearance. Pilling is most common on high-rub zones like the sides, under the arms, and where a backpack sits against the lower back.
Stain Treatment
Pre-treat food, grass, and ink stains before washing — apply a dab of mild soap and water to the stain and let sit for 5-10 minutes before laundering. For tougher stains, use a stain pretreatment spray and check the wash result before drying (heat sets stains).
Drawcord Care
The drawcord on the hood can fray or tangle with frequent use — keep both ends even when adjusting, and periodically check that the cord pulls smoothly through the hood channel. Don't tie the drawcord in knots that create permanent creases in the cord.
Storage
Store folded in a drawer or hung on a wide hanger to maintain the shoulder shape. The cotton-poly fleece doesn't benefit from compression. Keep clean before storing long-term to prevent body oils and sweat from setting into the fleece pile.
