Washing
Close the center front quarter zip and side pocket zip before washing. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with like colors. Use a mild technical cleaner such as Nikwax Tech Wash or Granger’s Performance Wash to maintain the FLASHDRY™ + LIGHTRANGE™ moisture-management treatments and the anti-odor finish. Regular household detergent leaves residue that degrades all three treatments over time and can clog the LIGHTRANGE™ finish. Avoid chlorine bleach, fabric softener, and dryer sheets — bleach breaks down the anti-odor treatment + UPF finish, and softener coats the fabric fibers, reducing the moisture-management performance. Do not dry clean.
Drying
Tumble dry on low for a short cycle or hang to dry. The 120 g/m² lightweight fabric dries very quickly — typically dry in a single low-heat cycle or in under an hour on a hanger. High heat can damage the LIGHTRANGE™ finish and the anti-odor treatment, so keep the dial low.
UPF & LIGHTRANGE™ Care
LIGHTRANGE™ is a fabric-level finish (UPF + anti-odor + moisture management) that lasts the life of the garment with proper care. The UPF protection is built into the fabric structure, not just a topical treatment — it won’t wash out. The anti-odor treatment can degrade over years of heavy use, but a wash with Nikwax Tech Wash (no fabric softener) usually refreshes performance.
Thumb Loop Care
The internal elastic thumb loops are sewn into the cuff seam and can wear out with heavy use. If a thumb loop pulls loose, a quick hand-stitch with matching thread restores it in 5 minutes. If you don’t like thumb loops, they tuck under the cuff — no need to cut them out.
Raglan Sleeves + Underarm Gussets
The raglan sleeve + underarm gusset construction is the highest-mobility area of the top. The underarm gusset seam takes the most stress during repetitive arm motion. If the gusset seam starts to pull or fray, a quick reinforcement stitch with polyester thread restores the seam.
Reverse-Coil Zippers
The reverse-coil center front quarter zip and side pocket zip are designed to resist snagging during high-output activity (the coil faces the body, not the outside). Keep the coils clean (a soft brush works) and lubricate sparingly with a silicone-based lubricant (Nikwax, GE Silicone II) if they start sticking. Never force a stuck zipper — back it off and clear debris from the coil.
Reflective Detail Care
The reflective heat-transfer logos and bar are durable but not indestructible. Avoid ironing directly on the reflective areas — high heat can melt or distort the reflective film. If the reflective starts to peel at the edges (typical after years of heavy wear), a small dab of fabric adhesive from a craft store can re-seal the edge.
Anti-Odor Top-Up
The LIGHTRANGE™ anti-odor treatment lasts years of regular use but can be refreshed if the top starts to hold odor faster. A wash with Nikwax Tech Wash (no fabric softener) usually restores performance. For between-wash refresh, a spray of unscented athletic-fabric refresher (like SweatBlock or Hex Performance) works well. Don’t use heavy fragrances on the fabric — they can mask the anti-odor but also build up residue.
Storage
Hang on a wide hanger in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, or fold loosely. The lightweight 120 g/m² fabric is easy to pack — rolls up small for travel. Avoid hanging in direct sunlight for long periods — UV degrades both the 83% recycled polyester face and the LIGHTRANGE™ finish over time. Keep out of damp areas (the anti-odor treatment doesn’t prevent mildew).
Travel Day Use
The Sunriser is built for the run-to-coffee-shop transition — wear it for a morning trail run, then head straight to brunch or errands without looking like you just exercised.
