Men’s HKe Utility Wind Jacket
Men’s HKe Utility Wind Jacket
Apparel · Outerwear / Wind Shell

Built for gusty days, the Men’s HKe Utility Wind Jacket uses FLASHDRY™ technology to help keep you comfortable while its durable water-repellent finish provides additional protection from the elements—so you can explore in confidence.

FLASHDRY™ Moisture Management
FLASHDRY™ materials pull moisture off the skin and dry fast, keeping you comfortable during high-output hikes
Stretch Construction
Main-body fabric blends 6% elastane for four-way stretch that moves with you on the trail
Non-PFC DWR Finish
Durable water-repellent finish sheds light rain and snow without PFCs
Stowable Hood
Elastic-bound hood rolls and stows into the collar when the sky clears
Internal Mesh Detailing
Mesh inserts add breathability and airflow at key heat-zone areas
Reverse-Coil Center Front Zip
Low-bulk reverse-coil zip resists wind flap and looks clean against the face fabric
Reinforced Yoke & Sleeves
Pieced-in ripstop reinforces the yoke, upper back, and sleeves — the high-wear zones that take the most abrasion from pack straps
Encased-Elastic Cuffs
Stretch-bound cuffs seal out wind without bulk; layer easily over a baselayer or light fleece
Dual Hem Cinch-Cords
Cinch-cord at hem with a cord lock on each side dials in a customized fit and seals out drafts
Recycled Materials
Main body 94% recycled nylon; yoke, upper back, and sleeves 93% recycled nylon; pocket lining 100% recycled polyester
Regular Fit
Athletic, true-to-size cut that layers cleanly over a baselayer

Washing
Close the center-front zip and any other zippers before washing. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with like colors. Use a mild technical cleaner such as Nikwax Tech Wash or Granger’s Performance Wash to maintain the non-PFC DWR finish on the main body and ripstop yoke/sleeves — regular household detergent leaves residue that degrades the DWR and FLASHDRY™ moisture-management treatment. Avoid bleach, fabric softener, and dryer sheets. Do not dry clean (solvents destroy DWR and the elastane stretch).
Drying
Tumble dry on low to reactivate the DWR finish. A short 10–15 minute low-heat cycle is usually enough — long high-heat cycles can damage the elastane stretch, the heat-transfer logo on the left sleeve, and the encased-elastic cuffs. Hang dry is also fine if you tumble briefly afterward to restore DWR water beading.
DWR Re-Proofing
When water stops beading on the 70D main body or the 70D ripstop yoke (typically after heavy use, multiple washes, or extended rain exposure), re-treat with a spray-on DWR such as Nikwax TX Direct or Granger’s Performance Repel. Apply to the clean, damp jacket, paying extra attention to the shoulders (where pack straps wear the DWR fastest) and the sleeve cuffs. A short low-heat tumble helps set the finish.
Hood & Cuffs
The stowable hood rolls and packs into the collar — make sure it’s fully extended and dry before rolling to avoid mildew. The encased-elastic cuffs can lose snap over years of use; don’t pull the jacket off by the cuffs as that stresses the elastic seam. Pull from the body or unzip and shrug out.
Storage
Store uncompressed in a cool, dry place — hang on a wide hanger or fold flat. Long-term compression in a pack or stuff sack for storage (not transport) breaks down the FLASHDRY™ moisture-management treatment and can flatten the elastane stretch. Keep out of direct sunlight (UV degrades DWR + nylon face).
Repairs
The pieced-in ripstop is there to take abrasion from pack straps — but if a tear or seam lift does happen, patch with adhesive nylon (Tenacious Tape) and clean the area first. The heat-transfer logos on the left sleeve and back-right shoulder are not field-repairable; treat them gently to avoid lifting.
