Cleaning
Machine wash cold (30 °C) on a gentle cycle with a mild technical or color-safe detergent. Avoid bleach, fabric softener, and stain remover — softener clogs the FLASHDRY™ moisture-management treatment on the body and the pocket lining, bleach degrades the recycled polyester and the heat transfer logo + graphic on the left thigh. Turn the shorts inside out before washing to protect the heat transfer and to reduce pilling on the 75D woven face.
Drying
Tumble dry on low heat or hang to dry. Low tumble heat reactivates the non-PFC DWR finish on the 75D woven body fabric. Avoid high heat — it can damage FLASHDRY™, the encased-elastic waistband, and the heat transfer graphic. Remove promptly to limit wrinkles; the 100% recycled polyester woven body dries quickly.
DWR Maintenance
The non-PFC DWR finish on the 75D woven body fabric wears gradually with use and wash cycles. When water stops beading on the surface, wash the shorts first and tumble dry on low heat to reactivate. If beading still doesn't return, apply a PFC-free DWR refresh spray rated for woven polyester to restore water repellency.
FLASHDRY™ Moisture Management
FLASHDRY™ is the chemical treatment on both the body fabric and the 135 g/m² pocket lining that pulls moisture away from skin and accelerates drying. Fabric softener and dryer sheets are the #1 enemy of FLASHDRY™ — they coat the fibers with a hydrophobic film that blocks the moisture-wicking action. Tumble dry on low to maintain full performance; line-dry works too if you avoid fabric softener in the wash.
Encased-Elastic Waistband & Internal Drawcord
The encased-elastic waistband holds its shape better than a standard elastic waistband — avoid pulling the shorts on by the waistband (slide them on from the foot). The internal drawcord is fully enclosed in the waistband tunnel; confirm the knot is secure and tuck the cord tail so it doesn't drag or come undone during activity. Replace the elastic or the drawcord if the waistband loses stretch over time.
Heat Transfer Logo & Graphic
The heat transfer logo and graphic on the left thigh are bonded into the fabric — wash inside out to protect them from abrasion. Don't iron directly on the transfer — iron on the reverse side only at low-medium heat with steam. Harsh detergents, bleach, and high heat can cause the transfer to peel. If the graphic starts lifting at the edge, clip the lifted portion with sharp scissors to prevent further peeling.
Hand Pockets & Secure-Zip Stash
The open hand pockets and the secure-zip stash pocket on the right side seam are sized for keys, phone, and trail essentials. Don't over-stuff the secure-zip stash — over-stuffing warps the pocket opening and stress-loads the side seam. Brush the stash zipper teeth with a soft toothbrush to clear grit, and lubricate sparingly with silicone-based lubricant if the slider stiffens.
Split Hem at Side Seams
The split hem at each side seam gives extra mobility for running, climbing, or crouching — the split is intentional, not a defect, and exposes a few inches of side-seam allowance. Don't attempt to close or stitch the split; it relaxes with movement. Inspect the split seam stitching periodically; if a side-seam stitch lifts, the FLASHDRY™-lined pocket interior can start to fray.
7" Inseam & Length Considerations
The 7" inseam (REG only — no SHORT or LONG variants in this style) is sized for above-the-knee coverage suited to active and lifestyle wear. The split hem increases the leg's range of motion so the 7" inseam doesn't bind during high-knee activities. Sit-test before each wash day if you have specific mobility needs.
75D Woven Body Fabric
The 75D 88 g/m² 100% recycled polyester woven face is lightweight and durable for everyday wear. The woven construction can pill at high-friction zones (inner thigh, where a pack hip-belt sits) — washing inside out on a gentle cycle minimizes pilling. Don't sit on rough concrete or asphalt for extended periods, which can scuff the woven face.
Pocket Lining with FLASHDRY™
The 135 g/m² 100% recycled polyester pocket lining with FLASHDRY™ keeps your hands and pocket contents from getting clammy during activity — the same treatment pulls moisture away from skin as on the body. Empty the pockets before washing so the lining doesn't trap coins or debris that can scratch the interior.
Storage
Fold and store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. The heat transfer graphic and FLASHDRY™ treatment can fade under prolonged UV exposure. Avoid compressing the encased-elastic waistband under heavy gear for long periods — flattened elastic loses its rebound. Confirm the shorts are fully dry before storage to prevent mildew in the pocket lining.
