The Pavé SL is the first seatpost that's compliant AND aerodynamic — a total win, win. Initially developed for the all-new Roubaix, this post makes a fantastic addition to your Tarmac SL6. The key innovation: the saddle moves in a perfect arc (back and downward motion) rather than tilting — which means the saddle nose doesn't tilt up and bite your thighs on rough roads. Single-bolt adjustable head with two setback options.

Perfect Arc — How It Works
Standard seatposts tilt the saddle nose up when you hit a bump — that's the "nose up" problem on rough roads. The Pavé SL's compliance engineering means the saddle moves in a perfect arc: back AND downward simultaneously. The nose doesn't tilt up. You maintain your position, your pedaling efficiency, and your comfort. This is a meaningful innovation for endurance riders and anyone on rough roads.
D-Shape vs. Round — Aero + Compliant
Traditional round seatposts are either stiff (good for power, bad for comfort) or compliant (comfortable, but flexes in all directions including sideways). The D-shaped Pavé post is aerodynamically optimized (fits inside the frame's airflow) AND compliant in the plane that matters — vertical compliance for road absorption without lateral flex that would hurt power transfer.
Roubaix Origins — Endurance Geometry
The Pavé was designed for the Roubaix — Specialized's endurance road bike built for cobbles and rough roads. If you ride long distances on variable pavement, the Pavé SL is purpose-built for your use case. It works on the Tarmac SL6 too, which is useful if you're putting a comfort-oriented post on an older race bike for a long event or Gran Fondo.
