Roval Control SL Seat Post
Roval Control SL Seat Post
XC Carbon Seatpost · 180g · 30.9mm · 0mm Offset · 2-Bolt Micro-Adjust

Finding your rhythm can make or break your race. The Control SL seat post puts you in an ideal position for high-output efforts and is easily adjusted thanks to the 2-bolt system letting you make micro-alignments for that dialed attack position — all while remaining feather light at 180g for XC riding and racing. Its 30.9mm post diameter and 415mm length make it a perfect match for the modern XC bike.

  • 180g: Featherweight XC carbon — 415mm length, built for racing.
  • 30.9mm Diameter: Standard modern XC seatpost size.
  • 0mm Offset: Zero setback — direct, aggressive position for XC.
  • 2-Bolt Micro-Adjust: 46mm saddle rail cradle — precise saddle positioning.
  • Ti Bolts: Titanium hardware — lightweight, durable.
  • Carbon + Alloy Compatible: Works with carbon and alloy saddle rails.

Once your riding position is set, your focus is dialed on ride fast and efficiently — not your seat post. The 415mm length is ideal for modern XC bikes with internally routed droppers or traditional seatclamp setups.

180g — Lighter Than Alpinist, Different Use Case
The Control SL at 180g is 44g lighter than the Alpinist at 136g... wait, let me correct that: the Alpinist is 136g, the Control SL is 180g. The Alpinist is actually lighter. But they're designed for different bikes — the Alpinist is 27.2mm (road), the Control SL is 30.9mm (XC). So the comparison is really about diameter matching, not weight. If you have a 30.9mm XC frame, the Control SL at 180g is the lightweight option; if you have a 27.2mm road frame, the Alpinist at 136g is lighter.
0mm Offset vs. 12mm Setback — Position Difference
The Control SL has 0mm offset — the saddle clamp is directly above the seatpost centerline. This puts your weight directly over the post for a more aggressive, forward position. The 0mm offset is common on XC race bikes where riders want to be as far forward as possible. If you need setback, look to the Alpinist (12mm setback) or other posts with offset options.
30.9mm — Standard Modern XC
30.9mm is the most common seatpost diameter for modern XC and trail bikes — it balances strength and weight better than larger diameters. Frames that require 30.9mm include many of Specialized's Epic, Epic 8, and similar XC bikes. Always check your frame's spec before ordering.
