Up to 90 More Minutes — Variables Matter
Specialized says "up to 90 more minutes" — this is a best-case estimate. Actual additional range depends on your power output, rider weight, terrain, assist level, and trail conditions. Heavier riders on steep terrain running high assist will see fewer additional minutes. Lighter riders on rolling terrain at lower assist levels will see more. The 280Wh is real capacity, but how far it takes you varies.
Why a Bottle Cage Mount?
Mounting the range extender in a bottle cage is elegant — it keeps the weight low and centered on the frame, it uses existing infrastructure (the bottle cage), and it's easily accessible. You can swap it out for a water bottle on shorter rides. The twist-lock mechanism keeps it secure even on rough trails.
IP67 — What It Means
IP67 means the range extender is dust-tight and can be submerged in water up to 1 meter for 30 minutes without damage.
