Women's Ski Over The Calf Socks

The Women's Ski Zero Cushion OTC Socks are everything you need to dominate the slopes this season. These Merino ski socks feature our most advanced Indestructawool technology for enhanced durability and our 4 Degree elite fit system for an unmatched performance fit. Plus, body-mapped mesh zones for added breathability. We'll see you on the slopes.

Zero Cushion — Precision Fit Inside The Boot
Zero cushion puts nothing between the foot and the boot — no bulk underfoot, no extra fabric around the ankle or shin, no compression points where a thicker sock would create a pressure hot spot inside a tight-fitting ski boot. The right cushion level for skiers who want maximum boot feel, precision control on edge, and a snug sock that doesn't fight the boot's liner fit. Warmer socks are not better socks — a thinner sock with the right wool content keeps the foot warm without the bulk that compromises control.
Over-The-Calf Height
Over-the-calf height rises to just below the knee — the right sock height for ski boots where the boot's upper cuff sits high on the calf. The OTC height keeps the sock from pulling down inside the boot during a long ski day, eliminates the gap between sock top and pant bottom that exposes skin to snow and cold, and stays in place under a ski pant without the bulk a knee-high or mid-calf sock would add at the boot's cuff.
Women's-Specific Fit — Narrower Heel & Slimmer Profile
Women's specific fit: narrower heel and slimmer fit — engineered for women's foot geometry rather than a unisex sock scaled down. The narrower heel keeps the sock locked in place during aggressive turns without the heel slip that creates friction and blisters. The slimmer overall profile matches the narrower women's boot liner and the lower-volume women's foot shape; no excess fabric bunching inside the boot.
Body-Mapped Mesh Zones
Body-mapped mesh zones for added breathability — ventilation knit into the specific zones where the foot builds heat inside a ski boot (across the top of the foot, around the ankle, down the shin). The mesh knit dumps heat where the boot runs warmest without breaking insulation at the toe box or heel where cold protection matters most. A thinner sock with mesh breathes better than a thicker cushioned sock with no mesh — the right construction for a precision-fit ski boot.
Wider Welt For Secure Fit
Wider welt for secure fit and comfort — the ribbed cuff at the top of the sock is knit wider than the rest of the sock to keep the OTC height locked in place without the binding or cutting a narrower welt would create at the calf. The wider welt distributes the elastic pressure across a broader band so the sock stays up all day without the cuff digging in or rolling down.
4 Degree™ Elite Fit System
4 Degree™ elite fit system for a dialed-in, performance-oriented fit — four compression points (ankle, arch, instep, upper cuff) knit into the sock's structure keep the sock locked to the foot's shape rather than sliding around inside the boot. The 4 Degree system uses four-way stretch elastane at the key fit points so the sock conforms to the foot's specific geometry without bunching or binding. The result is a ski sock that stays in place through aggressive turns, mogul runs, and long lift rides without the readjustment a lesser sock demands.
Indestructawool™ Durability
Indestructawool™ technology for enhanced durability — Smartwool's most advanced durability construction, knit into the high-wear zones (heel, toe, sole) where a sock normally fails first. The Indestructawool yarn blend extends the sock's lifespan well past a standard ski sock's first-hole failure, which matters on a sock that takes the abrasion of a hard plastic ski boot liner over a full season.
Shred Shield™ Toe Protection
Shred Shield™ technology reduces wear from toes — a reinforced knit at the toe box that resists the abrasion of ski boot liner buckles, ratchet straps, and repeated toe flex during turns. The Shred Shield extends the toe box lifespan past a standard ski sock's first-toe-hole failure, which is the most common failure point on a ski sock.
Ski-Specific Versatility
Built for the ski-specific uses where a zero-cushion OTC sock is the right tool — lift-served alpine skiing, backcountry touring where boot feel matters, mogul skiing where precision control is critical, and racing where no extra bulk is acceptable. The Merino content handles the cold-to-warm swings of a long lift day; the zero cushion keeps the boot's liner fit intact; the OTC height keeps the snow out.

Washing
Machine wash on gentle cycle in warm or cool water. Wash with like colors — the Merino-nylon-elastane blend benefits from isolated washing to protect the fabric's moisture-management properties and the Indestructawool™ high-wear zones. Use a mild, technical wash; avoid fabric softeners (they coat the Merino fibers and reduce natural moisture management, and they can degrade the elastane's stretch recovery).
Drying
Tumble dry low. The Indestructawool™ reinforced high-wear zones and the 4 Degree™ elite fit compression points tolerate low-heat tumble drying without distorting the sock's structure — low heat restores the loft of the Merino fibers and the elasticity of the compression points. Do not tumble dry on medium or high heat; high heat can degrade the elastane's stretch recovery and shrink the Merino fibers.
Bleach, Iron & Dry Cleaning
Do not bleach. Do not iron. Do not dry clean. Bleach breaks down Merino wool fibers and degrades the elastane in the 4 Degree™ fit system. Ironing is unnecessary for a knit sock and high heat can scorch the Merino and damage the elastane. The harsh solvents used in commercial dry cleaning strip the natural lanolin from Merino and degrade the Indestructawool™ yarn blend.
Storage
Store folded in a dry, breathable space. Merino's natural odor resistance means the same sock covers multiple ski days between washes, which extends the fabric's lifespan. Folded storage preserves the 4 Degree™ elite fit compression points and the Indestructawool™ high-wear reinforcement; balling or crumpling the sock for long periods can distort the body-mapped mesh zones.
