Washing
Machine wash on a gentle cycle in warm or cool water. The warm-or-cool water tolerance handles the boot-buckle pressure wear debris, the boot-cuff abrasion dust, and the body-soil that a sock accumulates across long ski days. Use a mild, technical wash; avoid fabric softeners (they coat the Merino fibers and reduce the natural moisture management and odor resistance that’s core to the sock’s performance). Turn the sock inside out before washing to protect the outer knit surface from abrasion against other garments.
Drying
Tumble dry low. The sock’s 57% Merino / 40% Nylon / 3% Elastane construction tolerates low-heat tumble drying without felting the Merino or degrading the elastane compression bands — the nylon backbone holds the knit structure together through the dry cycle. Low heat only; high heat can shrink the Merino fibers and damage the elastane’s compression recovery. (Note: this is the same tumble-dry-low spec used across the Hike and Ski sub-line socks in this family — the smaller knit structure and higher nylon content tolerate low-heat tumble drying in a way the larger flat-knit base layers do not.)
Bleach & Iron
Do not bleach. Do not iron. Bleach breaks down Merino wool fibers and degrades the elastane compression bands; ironing heat can scorch the Merino fibers and damage the 4 Degree™ elite fit system’s compression recovery. Both bleaching and ironing would compromise the sock’s structural integrity, the most advanced Indestructawool™-reinforced high-wear construction, and the body-mapped mesh construction that’s core to the sock’s breathability performance.
Dry Cleaning
Do not dry clean. The harsh solvents used in commercial dry cleaning strip the natural lanolin from Merino and degrade the elastane’s compression recovery — both of which are core to the sock’s moisture management and fit hold. The 4 Degree™ elite fit system in particular is sensitive to solvent-based cleaning; dry cleaning would compromise the compression bands’ ability to hold the sock’s fit through a full season of skiing.
Storage
Store folded in a dry, breathable space. Merino’s natural odor resistance means the sock stays fresh across multi-day ski trips between washes, which extends the fabric’s lifespan.
