100% Goat Leather main body — goat leather is the traditional choice for technical ski and snowboard gloves because it delivers the optimal balance of durability, dexterity, and weather resistance. Goat leather is naturally soft and supple (more so than cowhide), breaks in to conform to the hand's specific shape, and resists the abrasion of ski poles, snowboard bindings, and rope handling without the stiffness a heavier leather would create. The leather outer shell blocks wind and sheds light snow while the Merino wool lining handles the warmth.
Merino Wool Lining — Responsible Warmth
A responsibly sourced Merino wool lining (70% Wool, 30% Nylon in the lining blend) helps keep hands warm across the cold-to-warm swings of a full ski or snowboard day. The Merino delivers the natural temperature regulation that pure synthetic glove lining can't match — hands stay warm when static on a chairlift and don't develop the clammy chill when the body heats up on a descent. The 30% Nylon in the lining adds the structural stability the lining needs to hold its shape across the glove's articulation zones.
Double-Layered Thumb & Index Finger
These leather gloves have a double-layered thumb and index finger for durability — the thumb and index finger are the highest-wear zones on a ski glove (grip pressure on the pole, binding ratchet operation, phone use, rope handling), and doubling the leather at these zones extends the glove's lifespan well past a standard single-layer glove's first-wear failure. The double-layer construction adds minimal bulk at the thumb and index finger where dexterity matters most.
Touchscreen-Capable Index Finger
A reinforced index finger with touchscreen capabilities — the index finger has a Polyrethane Coating on the fingertip (100% Polyester base, Polyrethane Coating finish) that conducts the electrical capacitance a smartphone screen requires to register a touch. The touchscreen coating lets you capture photos, adjust music, check trail maps, and answer calls without removing the glove in cold conditions. The reinforced index finger construction and the touchscreen coating are integrated into a single zone rather than as separate components.
Adjustable Cuff Closure
Adjustable closure at the cuff allows you to customize the fit — the cuff closure adjusts to seal the glove around the wrist against the jacket sleeve (preventing snow from getting into the glove on a fall or a deep-powder day) or to loosen for venting during high-output activity. Cleaning — Specialized Leather Clean Only

The Spring Glove is the second piece in this product family (alongside the Anchor Line Shirt Jacket SW000122) that requires specialized cleaning beyond standard home or dry-cleaning care. The goat leather main body, the Merino wool lining, the stretch nylon back, and the Polyrethane touchscreen coating all require cleaning methods that won't damage the leather's natural oils, the Merino's performance, or the touchscreen coating's conductivity. Take the glove to a specialist who handles technical leather gloves — a cobbler, a ski shop glove service, or a leather cleaning specialist. Machine washing will ruin the leather and shrink the lining; standard dry cleaning solvents will strip the leather's natural oils and damage the touchscreen coating.
Bleach, Tumble Dry & Iron
Do not bleach. Do not tumble dry. Do not iron. Bleach breaks down Merino wool fibers and damages the goat leather's natural structure. Tumble drying will shrink the Merino lining, stiffen the goat leather, and damage the Polyreurethane touchscreen coating. Ironing is unnecessary for a leather glove and high heat will scorch the leather and damage the touchscreen coating.
Between-Wears Care
Air dry thoroughly between wears. After a ski or snowboard day, open the cuff fully and let the glove dry at room temperature with the Merino wool lining exposed to air. The Merino's natural odor resistance means the same glove covers multiple wear days between specialized cleanings, but the leather exterior benefits from air drying between every wear to prevent the moisture damage that shortens leather lifespan. Stuff the glove loosely with paper towel or a glove shaper during drying to maintain the shape and absorb interior moisture.
Storage
Store flat or on a glove shaper in a dry, breathable space. Merino's natural odor resistance keeps the lining fresh across multiple wear days; the goat leather benefits from storage in a breathable location (not a sealed plastic bag) to prevent the moisture buildup that causes mildew. Use a glove shaper or lightly stuffed paper to maintain the leather's hand-shape during storage; flat storage can cause the leather to crease permanently at the knuckle break points.
