Ski Midnight Ski Over the Calf Socks

You know it’s gonna be a good ski day (or night) when you’ve got Merino socks on your feet. Our Ski Full Cushion Midnight Ski Pattern Over the Calf Socks deliver everything you need to stay on the slopes day to night, without wearing out your feet: enhanced durability, breathability, and a dialed-in, performance-ready fit.

Indestructawool™ Durability Technology
Indestructawool™ durability technology is intentionally knit into high impact wear zones helping your socks outlast your longest adventures. Reinforced construction is engineered into the heel, toe, and sole — the three zones that take the most punishment on a ski boot day. The reinforcement extends sock lifespan past the standard ski-sock replacement cycle: 100+ days of lift-served skiing without the thin-spot-through or heel-hole failure that ends a standard Merino ski sock.
4 Degree™ Elite Fit System
4 Degree™ Elite Fit System offers a performance fit with strategic stretch and mesh zones to promote breathability while helping protect against blisters. Four compression bands — at the ankle, instep, arch, and upper cuff — lock the sock into the foot so it doesn’t bunch or slip inside a ski boot. Mesh zones at the top of the foot vent heat that builds inside a hard-shell boot over a lift line. The combination is the dialed-in fit that defines a performance ski sock.
Virtually Seamless™ Toe
Virtually Seamless™ toe technology is a flat knit toe seam designed for additional comfort. A standard sock toe seam is a thick ridge across the top of the toes — inside a ski boot, that ridge is pressed against the foot for 8 hours a day, and is the most common source of toe blisters on long ski days. The flat-knit toe seam removes the ridge, eliminating the friction point before it can start.
Full Cushion Throughout
Full cushion delivers full-density cushioning across the entire foot — sole, instep, ankle, and upper shaft — rather than just the sole and toe like a targeted-cushion ski sock. The full cushion absorbs the repeated impact of a hard-snow ski day, insulates the lower leg inside the boot, and protects the shin from boot-bang pressure on landings and rough snow. The right cushioning for long lift-served days, multi-day ski trips, and the kind of 8-hour ski sessions where a lighter-cushion sock would compress to nothing by lunch.
Over-the-Calf Height
Over-the-calf height rises the full length of the lower leg — the only height that works inside a ski boot without slipping down to the ankle mid-run. The OTC cuff stays up under the boot’s power strap and shin pressure, keeps snow out of the boot top on a yard sale, and prevents the gap that a crew sock would open at the calf when the knee bends into a tuck.
Merino Wool Performance Blend
60% Wool-Merino, 38% Nylon, 2% Elastane. The 60% Merino delivers the natural temperature regulation and odor resistance that make the sock wearable across multi-day ski trips without daily washing; the 38% nylon carries the Indestructawool™ reinforcement and the abrasion resistance a ski sock needs against a hard-shell boot liner; the 2% elastane gives the 4 Degree™ Elite Fit System its stretch recovery across the arch and ankle. The blend balances Merino’s natural performance with the structural strength a ski sock requires.
Breathability Inside Hard-Shell Boots
Mesh ventilation zones integrated into the upper foot — working with the 4 Degree™ Elite Fit System — dump heat that builds inside a hard-shell ski boot over a chairlift. Without the mesh zones, the foot overheats on the lift, sweats, then chills on the next run as the sweat cools. The breathability keeps the foot’s microclimate stable across the run-to-run temperature swings a ski day delivers.
Ski-Specific Versatility
Built for the full range of ski days where a lighter sock would compress to nothing and a heavier sock would overheat — lift-served resort skiing, multi-day ski trips, night skiing (the Midnight pattern), and backcountry resort laps where the boot is in and out frequently. The full cushion and OTC height handle the boot-bang and shin-pressure of long days; the Merino blend handles the cold-to-warm swings from lift to tree run.

Washing
Machine wash on gentle cycle in warm or cool water. The Merino + nylon + elastane blend benefits from gentle agitation to protect the Indestructawool™ reinforcement zones and the 4 Degree™ Elite Fit stretch recovery. Warm or cool water is fine — hot water can felt the Merino fibers and damage the elastane at the compression bands. Use a mild, technical wash; avoid fabric softeners, which coat the Merino fibers and reduce the natural odor resistance that makes the sock wearable across multi-day ski trips.
Drying
Tumble dry low. The Merino + nylon + elastane blend benefits from low tumble heat to re-loft the full cushion and the reinforced wear zones after washing. High heat can shrink the Merino fibers and damage the elastane at the 4 Degree™ compression bands — keep the setting low and remove promptly.
Bleach & Iron
Do not bleach. Do not iron. Bleach breaks down Merino wool fibers and degrades the nylon reinforcement in the Indestructawool™ wear zones. Iron heat can scorch the Merino blend and damage the elastane at the compression bands.
Dry Cleaning
Do not dry clean. The harsh solvents used in commercial dry cleaning strip the natural lanolin from Merino and degrade the nylon reinforcement and the elastane at the 4 Degree™ compression bands — both of which are core to the sock’s durability and fit performance.
Storage
Store folded in a dry, breathable space. Merino’s natural odor resistance lets the sock cover multiple wear days between washes across a ski trip — folded storage preserves the full cushion and the reinforced wear zones. Avoid hanging for long periods, which can stretch the elastane out of the 4 Degree™ compression bands.
