Mid Crew Height — Just Above The Shoe
A mid crew height sits just above the low-cut ankle collar of a hiking shoe — the right height for showing a sliver of sock personality above the shoe while keeping the ankle protected from debris, boot rub, and trail-brush contact. The mid crew is shorter than a traditional crew sock (which would rise halfway up the calf) and taller than a no-show or micro — the versatile middle-ground hike height that works across hiking shoes, mid-cut hiking boots, and trail runners without being seen when the pant leg drops.
Comfort Welt With “Stay Put” Fit
A comfort welt with “stay put” fit keeps the sock locked at the ankle without binding or cutting in. The welt is the banded cuff at the top of the sock — on a standard hike sock, a tight welt digs into the calf on long descents and a loose welt slides down into the shoe. The comfort welt is engineered to hold its position across the full hike without the pressure point — the cuff stays up while the elastic stays even rather than concentrated.

Four compression bands — at the ankle, instep, arch, and upper cuff — lock the sock into the foot so it doesn’t bunch or slip inside a hiking shoe. The performance fit is the dialed-in lock that defines a technical hike sock.
Updated Mesh Zones For Less Pressure
Updated mesh zones are integrated for less pressure — strategic knit openings across the top of the foot vent heat that builds inside a hiking shoe on the uphill, and reduce the pressure a denser knit would put on the metatarsal bones during a long descent. The mesh vents heat and pressure in one move — cooler foot on the climb, fewer hot spots on the down.
Virtually Seamless™ Toe
Virtually Seamless™ toe technology is a flat knit toe seam designed for additional comfort. A standard sock toe seam is a thick ridge across the top of the toes — inside a tight hiking shoe, that ridge is pressed against the foot for hours and is the most common source of toe blisters on long hike days. The flat-knit toe seam removes the ridge, eliminating the friction point before it can start.
Light Cushion Underfoot
Light cushion delivers targeted cushioning under the foot — enough padding to absorb the impact of a long hike and protect the sole from trail debris and pressure points, but not so much that the sock takes up volume inside a snug hiking shoe. The right cushioning for warm-weather hiking, fast day hikes, trail running, and the kind of hikes where a heavier-cushion sock would overheat the foot and lose the precise feel of the shoe.

59% Wool-Merino, 39% Nylon, 2% Elastane. The 59% Merino delivers the natural temperature regulation and odor resistance that make the sock wearable across back-to-back hike days without daily washing; the 39% nylon carries the Indestructawool™ reinforcement and the abrasion resistance a hike sock needs against a hiking shoe’s interior; the 2% elastane gives the 4 Degree™ Elite Fit System its stretch recovery across the arch and ankle. The blend balances Merino’s natural performance with the structural strength a hike sock requires.

Washing
Machine wash on gentle cycle in warm or cool water. The Merino + nylon + elastane blend benefits from gentle agitation to protect the Indestructawool™ reinforcement zones and the 4 Degree™ Elite Fit stretch recovery. Warm or cool water is fine — hot water can felt the Merino fibers and damage the elastane at the compression bands. Use a mild, technical wash; avoid fabric softeners, which coat the Merino fibers and reduce the natural odor resistance that makes the sock wearable across back-to-back hike days.
Drying
Tumble dry low. The Merino + nylon + elastane blend benefits from low tumble heat to re-loft the light cushion and the reinforced wear zones after washing. High heat can shrink the Merino fibers and damage the elastane at the 4 Degree™ compression bands — keep the setting low and remove promptly.
Bleach & Iron
Do not bleach. Do not iron. Bleach breaks down Merino wool fibers and degrades the nylon reinforcement in the Indestructawool™ wear zones. Iron heat can scorch the Merino blend and damage the elastane at the compression bands.
Dry Cleaning
Do not dry clean. The harsh solvents used in commercial dry cleaning strip the natural lanolin from Merino and degrade the nylon reinforcement and the elastane at the 4 Degree™ compression bands — both of which are core to the sock’s durability and fit performance.
Storage
Store folded in a dry, breathable space. Merino’s natural odor resistance lets the sock cover multiple wear days between washes across a backpacking trip — folded storage preserves the light cushion and the reinforced wear zones. Avoid hanging for long periods, which can stretch the elastane out of the 4 Degree™ compression bands.
