Cleaning
Remove loose dirt with a soft brush. Wipe the leather upper with a damp cloth and mild soap if needed. Avoid harsh detergents or bleach which can damage the leather, the GORE-TEX 3L bootie, and the Vibram® XS Trek outsole.
Drying
Air dry at room temperature away from direct heat or sunlight. Remove the insole and loosen the laces to allow airflow through the GORE-TEX bootie. Never tumble dry or use a radiator — high heat damages the membrane and the leather.
Leather Conditioning
Periodically condition the majority-leather upper with a leather conditioner to maintain suppleness, water resistance, and the patina. Buff with a soft cloth after conditioning.
GORE-TEX 3L Care
The GORE-TEX 3L bootie is built into the construction. Avoid machine washing or harsh detergents which can damage the membrane — spot clean only. Periodic re-treatment of the leather upper with a DWR spray maintains surface water beading.
Vibram® XS Trek Care
Clear mud, scree, and debris from the Vibram® XS Trek 5 mm lugs with a stiff brush after each use. The climbing zone at the toe is for edging on rock — inspect it for wear before technical terrain.
SKYCORE Rock Guard Care
Inspect the SKYCORE rock guard periodically by feel under the forefoot. If you start feeling sharp rocks through the sole, the rock guard or outsole may need attention before the next alpine trip.
Stability Shank & Ankle Support
The rigid stability shank and molded ankle support are built into the boot. Avoid storing the boots in cramped conditions (e.g., stuffed in a backpack) which can stress the shank over time.
Hardware Check
Inspect the metal and ghillie-lace eyelets, lace-lock, and laces before each trip. Replace frayed laces and clear debris from the eyelets to keep the lacing system secure and the custom fit dialed in.
Storage
Store loosely in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep boots stuffed with paper or boot trees to maintain shape and prevent the leather upper from creasing. Avoid long-term compression in stuff sacks.
