Cleaning
Remove loose dirt with a soft brush. Wipe the Cordura® ripstop upper with a damp cloth and mild soap if needed. Avoid harsh detergents or bleach which can damage the PFAS-free GORE-TEX membrane and the SURFACE CTRL™ outsole.
Drying
Air dry at room temperature away from direct heat or sunlight. Remove the insole and loosen the laces to allow airflow through the GORE-TEX membrane. Never tumble dry or use a radiator — high heat damages the membrane and the nubuck-leather reinforcements.
GORE-TEX Care
The PFAS-free GORE-TEX membrane does the heavy lifting on waterproofing. Avoid machine washing or harsh detergents which can damage the membrane — spot clean only. Periodic re-treatment of the Cordura® upper with a DWR spray maintains surface water beading.
SKYCORE Rock Guard Care
Inspect the SKYCORE rock guard periodically by feel under the forefoot. If you start feeling sharp rocks through the sole, the rock guard or outsole may need attention before the next hike.
Nubuck-Leather Reinforcements
The nubuck-leather reinforcements at the forefoot can be treated with a leather conditioner if they dry out over time. Buff gently with a soft cloth to maintain the look and add water resistance.
SURFACE CTRL™ Outsole Care
Clear mud, gravel, and debris from the 5 mm lugs with a stiff brush after each use. The 10% smallholder-farmer rubber holds grip well — keep it clean to maintain the optimal wet/dry traction.
Lacing & Hardware
Inspect the ghillie-lace loops, three metal eyelets, heel pull loop, and laces before each trip. Replace frayed laces and clear debris from the eyelets to keep the lacing system secure.
Storage
Store loosely in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep boots stuffed with paper or boot trees to maintain shape and prevent the Cordura® upper from creasing. Avoid long-term compression in stuff sacks.
