Sustainability

DWR Treatment
Non-PFC durable water-repellent finish (no perfluorinated chemicals)
Cleaning
Hand wash in cool water with mild soap. Avoid machine washing which can damage the DWR finish, deform the brim, and break the UPF treatment in the fabric.
Drying
Reshape the brim and air dry at room temperature away from direct heat or sunlight. Do not tumble dry or iron.
DWR Refresh
Non-PFC DWR wears off with heavy use. Re-treat periodically with a spray-on DWR designed for technical apparel to maintain water beading and the water-changing print effect.
Sand & Mud
Rinse sand, mud, and pool water off with fresh water after each outing. Pay special attention to the underbrim mesh and chin strap where grit collects.
Brim Care
Don't fold the brim in half. Roll or pack loosely and use the back-brim cord loop to clip the hat to a backpack when not in use.
UPF Care
UPF 40+ is built into the fabric and does not wash out, but the treatment degrades with bleach, harsh detergents, and stretching. Avoid fabric softener and store loosely.
Chin Strap
Check the hook-and-loop quick-release and cord lock before each trip. Test the chin strap release mechanism to be sure it pops free easily — important for safety on playground equipment and boat days.

Returns & Exchanges:

If you received the wrong size or wish to exchange an item, it must be returned in original condition—unused, uninstalled, and with all packaging intact.
