Washing
Close all zippers before washing. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with like colors — use a mild detergent only. Avoid bleach, fabric softeners, and enzyme-based detergents, which can degrade the recycled polyester fibers, strip the elasticity from the elastane, and leave residue that reduces the fleece's loft over time. Turn the fleece inside out before washing to protect the heat-transfer logo on the left chest from abrasion.
Drying
Tumble dry on low heat — gentle heat restores the loft of the midweight fleece and refreshes the hand-feel. Avoid high heat, which can damage the elastane, warp the quarter-zip teeth, and degrade the elasticated binding on the cuffs and hem. Make sure the fleece is fully dry before storing.
Pilling Prevention
Recycled polyester fleece can pill with heavy use — periodic use of a fabric shaver or sweater comb on high-friction areas (under pack straps, around the cuffs, where a hydration vest rides) keeps the surface looking clean and reduces the visible wear that comes from repeated abrasion.
Zipper Care
Keep the reverse-coil center front quarter zip and the secure-zip chest pocket zipper clean and free of debris — periodically brush them lightly with a soft brush to clear dust from the teeth. If a zipper starts sticking, rub a graphite pencil along the teeth or apply a small amount of zipper lubricant rather than forcing it.
Storage
Store the fleece hanging on a wide hanger or folded loosely in a dry place away from direct sunlight — UV exposure over time can fade the shell and degrade the elastane. Don't compress the fleece under heavy gear for extended periods, which can crush the loft and reduce thermal performance. Don't store wet — moisture can degrade the recycled polyester fibers and lead to odor buildup.
