Women's Summit Series Breithorn Jacket
Women's Summit Series Breithorn Jacket
800-Fill ProDown™ · Summit Series™ · Expedition-Grade

We don't just say it, we live by it: Athlete Tested. Expedition Proven.™ It might look like a puffer, but this jacket has been put to the test in some of the harshest conditions on earth. That's how we innovate. We find the crux, improve our beta and build it better. Adapted to the high alpine as a flexible mid layer or as an uncompromising outer layer, it thrives no matter where you take it. With highly compressible, water-repellent 800-fill ProDown™, you can move lighter and faster through the mountains or the daily elements. Engineered for mobility. Cut for precision. This is Summit Series. This is the Breithorn.

800-Fill ProDown™ Insulation
Premium 800-fill ProDown™ with hydrophobic treatment retains loft and insulates when wet — TNF's most premium down for high-alpine missions
Athlete Tested. Expedition Proven.™
TNF's Summit Series™ mantra — every detail has been stress-tested in real expedition conditions before it goes into production
Dual-Role Construction
Functions as both a flexible mid layer under a shell OR an uncompromising outer layer on its own — adapts to alpine conditions
High Compressibility
Highly compressible down clusters pack down small — takes up minimum pack space on the approach and pops back to full loft when unpacked
DWR Water-Repellent Finish
Durable water-repellent coating sheds light snow and precipitation — keeps the down from saturating in storm flurries
Engineered for Mobility
Athletic cut and construction designed for high-output movement — reach, climb, and stride without binding at the shoulders or hem
Lightweight Packability
Lightweight build for backpacking, climbing, alpinism, and any objective where weight matters on the approach
RDS-Certified Down
Down is Responsible Down Standard (RDS) certified by Control Union (CU 843098) — full traceability from farm to finished product
Recycled Materials
Built with recycled content to reduce landfill waste and the use of virgin materials

Recycled Content
Yes (shell fabric + insulation materials)
Washing
Close all zippers and turn inside out to protect the shell and baffles. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle using a down-specific wash (such as Nikwax Down Wash). Do not use regular detergent, bleach, or fabric softener — they strip the DWR finish, clump the ProDown™ clusters, and damage the Pertex® face fabric.
Drying
Tumble dry LOW with 2–3 clean tennis balls or wool dryer balls. The balls break up ProDown™ clumps and restore full loft. Multiple low-heat cycles (2–3 hours total) are normal — the down must dry completely inside and out to prevent mildew and preserve insulating power. Do not use high heat — it damages the down and the Pertex® face fabric.
DWR Refresh
When water stops beading on the face fabric, reproof with a spray-on DWR treatment (such as Nikwax TX Direct Spray-On) to restore water repellency without soaking the ProDown™ fill.
Storage
Store uncompressed in a cool, dry place — never in a stuff sack for the off-season. Hanging on a wide hanger or storing loosely folded preserves ProDown™ loft and prevents clumping. Ensure fully dry before storing. Long-term compression destroys down loft permanently.
Field Repairs
Small tears in the Pertex® shell should be patched with tenacious tape (TNF's preferred field-repair material) before they spread. Down escaping from a tear can be pushed back inside with a toothpick before patching.
