Trail Lite 24 Backpack
Trail Lite 24 Backpack
Daypack · 24L · Active-Fit Suspension · 210D Nylon Ripstop · Dual Sternum Straps

The Trail Lite 24 is a highly technical daypack full of features designed to optimize fit, maximize access to your gear and distribute weight comfortably — because the challenge in your day hike shouldn't come from your pack.

Active-Fit Breathable Back Panel + Shoulder Straps
Breathable back panel and shoulder straps have a contoured fit and are designed for active pursuits — promote airflow across the back to reduce sweat build-up, and the contoured shape follows the natural curve of the torso so the pack stays stable through scrambles, climbs, and fast descents.
Padded Hipbelt with Quick-Access Pockets
Padded hipbelt has two stretch, quick-access pockets for a phone and other items — provides important load transfer to the hips on long climbs and technical descents, with the stretch pockets keeping essentials like a phone, snacks, or a camera accessible without taking the pack off.
Dual Quick-Access Shoulder Strap Pockets
Shoulder straps include a stretch-mesh pocket for soft flasks or smaller items plus a secure-zip, quick-access phone pocket — keeps hydration and phone accessible mid-stride without having to stop and shrug out of the pack to reach your gear.
Dual Sternum Straps
Dual sternum straps are comfortable at whatever pace you're hiking — distribute the shoulder strap load across the chest without the single-strap pinch that can happen on active terrain, and can be adjusted independently to match your torso shape and chest size.
Large Zippered Main Compartment
Large, zippered main compartment — opens wide for finding a layer, snack, or piece of gear at the bottom without unpacking the whole pack, and the long zipper pull makes it easy to grab with gloves or cold fingers.
Internal Mesh Pocket + Key Hook
Internal mesh pocket with a key hook — keeps small essentials (wallet, snacks, first-aid basics) organized and visible inside the main compartment, and the key hook prevents keys from disappearing to the bottom of the pack.
Internal Water Bladder Pocket
Internal water bladder pocket holds a hydration reservoir (not included) with hose routing out the top — gives a hands-free hydration alternative to water bottles for longer day hikes where stopping to drink breaks momentum.
Dual Water Bottle Pockets with Wear-While-Access
Two water bottle pockets have strategically placed openings that allow you to access them while you're wearing the pack — pull out and re-stash bottles without taking the pack off or breaking stride, important for keeping hydration on pace during long climbs.
Trekking-Pole + Ice-Axe Carry
Trekking-pole and ice-axe carry systems let you stow poles and axes when not in use — frees up your hands for scrambles, river crossings, or photo stops without having to strap poles awkwardly to the pack exterior or leave them behind.
Front Bungee + Side Compression Straps
Front bungee system holds bulky items like a wet shell, helmet, or camp shoes, and side compression straps let you cinch down the pack for stable load carry when the pack isn't fully loaded — keeps the load close to the back for better balance on technical terrain.
Reflective Details
Reflective details on the pack body and straps add low-light visibility for pre-dawn starts, dusk finishes, and any time the hike extends into lower-light conditions — important for trail runners transitioning to hiking and anyone hiking near roads.
Women-Specific Version Available
A women-specific version of the Trail Lite 24 is available with a tailored shoulder-strap and hipbelt shape for women — gives buyers the option of a pack dialed to their body geometry rather than just picking the unisex/men's version by default.

Cleaning
Spot clean the pack body with a damp cloth and mild soap for everyday dirt and grime — avoid machine washing, which can damage the breathable back panel foam, the shoulder-strap padding, the contoured shape, and the reflective details. For deeper cleaning, hand wash the pack in cool water with a mild technical-fabric detergent, then rinse thoroughly. Don't dry-clean or use harsh solvents.
Drying
Air dry at room temperature away from direct heat or sunlight after cleaning — high heat can delaminate the 210D nylon ripstop body, warp the padded hipbelt and shoulder straps, and degrade the reflective details. Make sure the pack is fully dry inside and out — including the internal mesh pocket, water bladder pocket, and all external pockets — before storing.
DWR Maintenance
The non-PFC DWR finish on the 210D nylon ripstop body and the 600D recycled polyester boot wears off gradually with use and wash cycles. If the pack starts wetting out (water soaking into the ripstop instead of beading on the surface), apply a DWR refresh spray specifically rated for nylon/polyester pack fabrics to restore water repellency.
Zipper Care
Keep the main compartment zipper, the secure-zip shoulder-strap phone pocket zipper, and any other exposed zippers clean and free of debris — periodically brush them lightly with a soft brush to clear dust from the teeth. If a zipper starts sticking, rub a graphite pencil along the teeth or apply a small amount of zipper lubricant rather than forcing it.
Hardware Inspection
Periodically check the trekking-pole carry loops, ice-axe attachments, side compression buckles, dual sternum strap buckles, and hipbelt pockets — hardware is the first thing to fail under hard use, and worn buckles or torn loops can be repaired with a needle and thread or replaced through TNF customer service before they fail mid-hike.
Hydration Reservoir Care
If using the internal water bladder pocket, remove the reservoir between hikes and dry the pocket fully — moisture trapped in a hydration pocket can lead to mildew and odor. Periodically check the bladder hose routing exit point at the top of the pack for wear, since the hose can rub against the fabric over time.
Storage
Store the pack in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight — UV exposure over time can degrade the 210D nylon ripstop body, fade the shell, and weaken the reflective details. Don't store wet, and don't compress the pack under heavy gear for extended periods, which can deform the contoured back panel and shoulder-strap shape over time.
