Sustainability

Recycled Content
Outer shell + lining: 100% recycled polyester · Insulation: 85% post-consumer recycled polyester
PFC Status
Non-PFC DWR finish
Washing
Close the center zip fully before washing. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle in a front-loading washer (top-loaders with agitators can damage baffles + insulation). Use a technical down/synthetic wash such as Nikwax Tech Wash or Granger’s Performance Wash — regular household detergent leaves residue that mats HEATSEEKER™ PRO and degrades the non-PFC DWR finish on the 30D shell and 20D lining. Avoid bleach, fabric softener, and dryer sheets. Do not dry clean.
Drying
Tumble dry on low with 2–3 clean tennis balls or dryer balls. The balls break up clumps in the HEATSEEKER™ PRO fill and restore loft — the single most important step for keeping a synthetic bag warm over its lifetime. Drying can take 2–3 cycles; the bag is fully dry when no clumps remain and the fill is evenly distributed. Air-dry flat in a well-ventilated area if you don’t have a dryer, but expect to manually break up fill clumps by hand.
DWR Re-Proofing
When water stops beading on the 30D × 30D recycled-polyester shell, re-treat with a spray-on DWR such as Nikwax TX Direct or Granger’s Performance Repel. Apply to the clean, damp shell, paying attention to the hood, footbox, and shoulder areas that get the most exposure. A short low-heat tumble helps set the finish.
Storage (Long-Term)
Store uncompressed in a large cotton or mesh storage sack (or just loose) in a cool, dry place. Never store a synthetic bag in its compression stuffsack for long periods — extended compression permanently damages HEATSEEKER™ PRO loft and reduces thermal performance. Use the compression sack only for transport. Keep out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources (UV degrades both shell + DWR, and heat compresses fill).
Zippers
The two-way YKK® anti-snag zip is the most failure-prone part of any sleeping bag. Keep the coil clean (a soft brush works), lubricate sparingly with a silicone-based zipper lubricant (Nikwax, GE Silicone II, or beeswax) if it starts sticking, and never force a stuck zipper — back it off and clear debris from the coil to avoid breaking the slider. Open and close fully when storing so the slider doesn’t rest in one position and wear the coil unevenly.
Field Care
Air out the bag every morning on the tent or pack for 10–15 minutes to evaporate body moisture before stuffing — a damp synthetic bag loses significant loft and insulating power. Shake out the fill before re-stuffing to prevent clumping. Use a sleeping bag liner (silk, thermolite, or cotton) to keep body oils off the lining and extend time between washes.
