Route Rocket 16 Backpack
Route Rocket 16 Backpack
Summit Series Climbing Pack · 16L · Carbonate-Coated 420D Recycled Nylon · Half-Zip Main · Helmet Lash Points · Belay Haul Handle · 540g

The Summit Series Route Rocket 16 is a light, durable climbing pack designed to stand up to the nastiest squeeze chimneys. This 16-liter pack offers quick-draw access to snacks, racks, and more than enough room for your approach shoes. Built for long alpine days, multi-pitch routes, and big wall push days where every gram counts.

Carbonate-Coated 420D Body
Pitch after pitch, the durable carbonate-coated nylon body withstands chimney scrapes, rock abrasion, and crampon scuffs — yet stays light enough to keep weight down on long approaches.
Recycled Side Panels with Factory Floor Scraps
Recycled polyester side panels integrate fabric scraps collected from the factory floor to create one-of-a-kind striations and a unique design — every pack has its own visual signature.
Half-Zip Main Compartment
A half-zip pocket opens wide for quick access to a spacious main compartment — but stops short of unzipping all the way so gear doesn't tumble out when you swing the pack open at the belay.
External Secure-Zip Top Pocket
An external, secure-zip top pocket with a key hook holds small essentials like your phone, snacks, or a guidebook — keeps the most-used items accessible without digging into the main compartment.
Side Lash Points
Lash points on both sides of the pack let you attach miscellaneous gear with carabiners or fasten a helmet — quick-clip access to cams, draws, shoes, and rack while you climb.
Breathable Shoulder Straps
Shoulder straps are breathable and comfortable for the approach — minimize hot spots and sweat build-up on steep hikes to the crag and base of the route.
Burly Top Handle
A burly top handle is built for hanging at belays, hauling on big walls, and grabbing the pack one-handed off a haul line — handles the full weight of the loaded pack without tearing.
Removable Adjustable Webbing Hipbelt
A removable, adjustable webbing hipbelt can be stripped off for cleaner hauling on multi-pitch and big wall days — keeps the pack from catching on gear when you're hoisting it up the line.

Spot clean with a damp cloth and a small amount of mild soap — handles most chalk, dust, and rock-grit stains without a full wash.

For deeper cleaning, hand wash in cold water with a gentle detergent. Avoid wringing or twisting the pack — squeeze gently and press water out with a towel to protect the carbonate-coated body.

Hang to air dry in a shaded, well-ventilated area. Do not tumble dry and do not iron — heat can damage the carbonate coating and degrade the DWR finish on the shell and side panels.

Do not bleach and do not dry clean — both can strip the non-PFC DWR finish and damage the recycled nylon and recycled polyester fabrics.

Re-treat the DWR finish periodically (or as needed) with a non-PFC spray-on water repellent (like Nikwax TX Direct or Granger's Performance Repel) to refresh the water-shedding performance of the shell.

Brush out chalk dust from the lash points and hipbelt attachments after every climb. Store the pack in a cool, dry place when not in use — open the main compartment to let it air out between trips.
