Accessories · Hat / Classic Cap

The Recycled 66 Classic Hat is well named. Not only is it designed with an all-around classic fit for maximum comfort, but it was constructed using 100% recycled fabric, because even accessories should be made with Mother Nature in mind. With structured front panels and just the right depth to keep you comfortable on the go, this hat is perfect for everyday wear in the city, or your next adventure off the beaten path.

100% Recycled Polyester Body
Body fabric made with 100% recycled polyester — sustainable construction without sacrificing the durability and structure of a classic cap
Classic Fit with Right Depth
All-around classic fit at just the right depth for maximum comfort — sits naturally on the head without sitting too high or too deep, suitable for all head sizes and face shapes
Structured Front Panels
Structured front panels hold the shape of the crown over time — the cap keeps its profile through years of wear, not flopping flat like unstructured caps
Adjustable Self-Fabric Back-Strap
Self-fabric back-strap closure (same fabric as the cap) with a branded brass buckle — adjustable for a secure fit on different head sizes, the brass buckle adds a quality detail that doesn’t look cheap
Embroidered Logo
Tonal embroidered logo on the front — understated branding that doesn’t shout
One Size Fits Most
One size with adjustable back-strap — fits most adult head sizes (typically 21.5″–23.5″ circumference)

Cleaning
Hand-wash recommended for a structured cap — the structured front panels and the embroidered logo can lose shape in a machine wash. Fill a basin with cool water and a small amount of mild detergent. Submerge the cap, gently agitate with your hands to work out sweat and grime, and rinse thoroughly with cool water. Do not machine wash, bleach, or use fabric softener — bleach breaks down the recycled polyester, fabric softener leaves residue on the fabric and can yellow over time.
Stain Spot Treatment
For sweatband stains (the most common cap stain), apply a small amount of mild detergent directly to the sweatband, gently work in with an old toothbrush, then hand-wash the entire cap. Do not use bleach or oxygen cleaners — they break down the 100% recycled polyester fibers. For tough stains (grass, ink), work a paste of baking soda + water into the spot, let sit for 15 minutes, then hand-wash.
Reshaping the Structured Front Panels
The structured front panels hold the cap’s profile — if the panels get bent or warped, reshape them while the cap is still damp. Use your hands to gently press the front panels back into shape (rounded crown, not flat), then air dry. For deep reshaping, stuff the crown with a rolled-up towel or a small ball of plastic wrap to hold the shape while drying.
Drying
Air dry at room temperature, away from direct heat or sunlight. Do not put the cap in a clothes dryer — the heat and tumbling will destroy the structured front panels, warp the brim, and damage the embroidered logo. Do not place on a radiator or in a hot car — high heat deforms the cap permanently. Stuff the crown loosely with a rolled-up towel during drying to help the structured panels hold their shape.
Brim Care
The curved brim of the 66 Classic is part of the signature silhouette — don’t bend or fold the brim flat. If the brim gets crushed (in a suitcase, for example), reshape it by hand: gently curve the brim back into shape with your fingers, working from the center outward. For deep warping, lightly steam the brim (a steamer held 6+ inches away, not direct iron contact) and reshape by hand while still warm. Never iron the brim directly — the heat can melt the brim material.
Brass Buckle Care
The branded brass buckle on the back-strap can develop a patina (oxidize) over time — this is normal and adds character. If you prefer the original bright-brass finish, polish with a soft cloth and a brass cleaner (Brasso or similar). Avoid getting brass cleaner on the cap fabric — it can stain the recycled polyester. A quick wipe with a dry cloth is usually enough to keep the buckle looking good.
Back-Strap Adjustment
The self-fabric back-strap is the most stress-bearing part of the cap — it takes constant friction from the brass buckle. Check the strap stitching periodically; if it starts to fray, a quick hand-stitch with matching thread restores it. Don’t over-tighten the strap — the brass buckle can wear through the fabric over time if the strap is cinched too tight repeatedly. Aim for a secure but comfortable fit, not a tight fit.
Sweat + Body Oil Care
The sweatband (the inner band that touches the forehead) absorbs the most sweat and body oil. Rotate between 2–3 caps if you wear one daily, so each cap has 24+ hours to fully dry out between wears. If the sweatband develops odor that doesn’t come out with regular washing, sprinkle baking soda on the sweatband, let sit overnight, then shake/vacuum out.
Color Fading
Direct sunlight is the #1 cause of cap color fading. Don’t leave the cap in a hot car, on a windowsill, or anywhere with prolonged direct sun exposure. UV breaks down the recycled polyester fibers and the dye, especially on darker colorways. Store the cap in a closet or drawer when not in use.
Storage
Store the cap in a cool, dry, dark place — on a shelf, in a closet, or in a drawer. Don’t store the cap with the brim crushed under other items — this permanently deforms the brim curve. For travel, use a small hat box or stuff the crown with socks/underwear to hold the shape. Hang on a hook by the back-strap buckle if the hook is wide enough not to distort the back-strap.
Hiking + Outdoor Use
The 66 Classic is rated for everyday wear and light outdoor use, not for serious hiking or alpine climbing. The structured crown can trap heat in high-output activity (less breathable than a trucker hat with mesh back), and the curved brim doesn’t shade as effectively as a wider-brim sun hat. For hiking in sun, consider the TNF Horizon Breeze Brimmer or a similar wide-brim sun hat. The 66 Classic is at its best as a lifestyle/casual cap, not a technical outdoor piece.
