Men's Summit Series Breithorn Hoodie
Insulated Hoodie · Men · Summit Series · 800-fill ProDown™ · Pertex® Y Fuse

Athlete Tested. Expedition Proven.™ It might look like a puffer, but this jacket has been put to the test in some of the harshest conditions on earth. Adapted to the high alpine as a flexible mid layer or as an uncompromising outer layer, it thrives no matter where you take it. With highly compressible, water-repellent 800-fill ProDown™, you can move lighter and faster through the mountains or the daily elements. Engineered for mobility. Cut for precision. This is Summit Series. This is the Breithorn.

800-Fill ProDown™ Insulation
800-fill ProDown™ is a natural down insulation enhanced with a hydrophobic finish that allows it to dry faster than untreated down — delivers the highest warmth-to-weight ratio in TNF's lineup while maintaining loft and insulation performance when exposed to moisture.
Pertex® Y Fuse Fabric
Pertex® Y Fuse increases the downproof and water-beading properties of the fabric — prevents down from migrating through the shell, adds water repellency at the face fabric, and keeps the insulation performing at full loft through wet conditions.
Non-PFC DWR Finish
Non-PFC durable water-repellent finish on the outer shell causes water to bead up and roll off — handles light rain, snow, and wet brush without soaking through, without the use of harmful perfluorinated chemicals.
Climbing-Helmet-Compatible Hood
Attached, adjustable hood is climbing-helmet-compatible with a pre-tensioned elastic opening and cinch-cord with cord lock in back — fits over a mountaineering helmet without binding and cinches down for ski touring and around-town use.
YKK® VISLON® Center Front Zip
Exposed, #3 YKK® VISLON® center front zip with an insulated internal draft flap — durable, easy-to-operate toothed zipper that won't jam with ice or frost, plus a draft flap to keep cold air from sneaking through the zipper teeth.
Raglan Sleeves + Underarm Gussets
Raglan sleeves and underarm gussets allow full arms-up mobility — no shoulder seam to restrict overhead reach when climbing, scrambling, or using trekking poles on steep terrain.
Water-Resistant Zip Pockets
Chest pocket and hand pockets with exposed, water-resistant, reverse-coil zips — keeps gear dry in wet conditions without the bulkiness of storm flaps. Hand pocket design doubles as the stuff sack for the jacket.
Stows in Left Hand Pocket
Stows in the left hand pocket — compresses into its own pocket for compact storage in a pack, harness, or luggage, no separate stuff sack needed.
Large Internal Drop-In Pockets
Two large, internal drop-in pockets for stashing gloves, hats, skins, snacks, or a pair of chemical warmers — generous capacity for keeping small essentials warm and accessible without opening the main zipper.
Stretch-Knit Cuffs
Stretch-knit cuffs for added comfort and a close-to-wrist fit — seal out cold air and snow without the bulk of insulated cuffs, and stay comfortable against the skin for all-day wear.
Internal Hem Cinch-Cord
Internal hem cinch-cord with single-point adjustment — seals out drafts at the waist from inside the jacket without dangling cord on the outside to catch on harnesses or packs.

Washing
Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle in a front-loading washer with a technical down-specific cleaner (Nikwax Down Wash or Grangers Down Care). Close all zippers before washing. Avoid top-loading washers with agitators — they can damage the baffles and the Pertex® Y Fuse face fabric.
Drying
Tumble dry low heat with three to four clean tennis balls or dryer balls to break up down clumps and restore full loft. Low and slow is essential — high heat damages the ProDown™ hydrophobic treatment and the Pertex® Y Fuse face fabric. Ensure fully dry before storing to prevent mildew and down clumping.
Down Maintenance
If the down starts to clump or lose loft (typically after extended use or wet conditions), repeat the wash-and-dry cycle with tennis balls — the mechanical action restores down loft. Avoid fabric softeners which coat the down clusters and reduce thermal performance.
DWR Refresh
Re-apply a DWR treatment to the Pertex® Y Fuse face fabric when water stops beading on the surface (Nikwax TX.Direct or similar PFC-free re-proofer). Re-proofing maintains the water repellency that helps the ProDown™ stay drier in mixed conditions.
Zipper Care
Close the YKK® VISLON® center front zipper and pocket zippers fully before washing. If the VISLON® zipper sticks in cold conditions, gently work it back and forth — never force it, which can bend the slider teeth.
Storage
Store loosely in a large cotton or mesh storage sack (or just hang in a closet). NEVER store compressed in a stuff sack for long periods — down loses loft permanently and won't recover warmth even when re-fluffed. Keep clean before storing to prevent body oils from degrading the DWR finish.
