Washing
Machine wash cold with like colors. Use a mild detergent — the 33% recycled polyester is durable but doesn’t need harsh cleaners. Avoid bleach, fabric softener, and dryer sheets — bleach breaks down cotton fibers and fabric softener leaves residue that reduces the breathability of the cotton-recycled blend over time.
Print Care
If the hoodie has a printed graphic (60th-anniversary line prints can vary by release), turn the hoodie inside out before washing to protect the design. Wash with similar graphics together so abrasion doesn’t transfer damage.
Drying
Tumble dry on low heat. Remove promptly at the end of the cycle to reduce wrinkles and help the ribbed cuffs and hem hold their shape. High heat can shrink the cotton content and degrade the recycled polyester over time. Hang dry is also fine for a softer hand-feel and lower energy use.
Drawstring Care
The hood drawstring is a small detail that takes a lot of daily use. If the drawcord starts fraying at the ends, trim the fray and heat-seal the tip with a lighter or match (carefully, briefly) to prevent further unraveling. If the cord-lock toggle loosens, replace with a standard 1/8″ cord lock from any outdoor or hardware shop.
Kangaroo Pocket Wear
Kangaroo pockets take a lot of stress from keys, phones, and hands in and out all day. If the pocket stitching starts to wear at the top corners (the most common failure point), a quick reinforcement stitch with a needle and polyester thread is a 5-minute fix that prevents a much larger repair later.
Storage
Fold and store in a cool, dry place. Avoid hanging for long periods — the cotton-recycled blend, like most knits, will stretch out at the shoulders if hung, and the hood weight will pull the neckline out of shape over time. Fold flat on a shelf or in a drawer. Keep out of direct sunlight (UV fades the cotton face over time, especially on darker colorways).
Pilling & Lint
Cotton-recycled blends can pill with heavy abrasion (think backpack straps, car seatbelts, rough concrete). Wash inside out in a mesh laundry bag to reduce friction. Use a fabric shaver or sweater comb to refresh pilled areas — don’t pull pills off by hand as that damages the underlying fibers.
