Ultra-lightweight and stowable for superior portability, the Men's Fontanales Wind Jacket is built for those who value speed and performance on the trail. Highly wind-resistant WINDWALL™ fabric provides protection against unrelenting gusts, making your next hike or trail run a breeze. A water-repellent finish adds coverage from the elements, an attached hood seals in warmth on exposed ridgelines, and thumb loops keep the sleeves in place when you're reaching and grabbing branches or holding trekking poles.
Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with a mild technical wash — close the secure-zip pocket and any hook-and-loop before tossing it in.
Turn the jacket inside-out before washing to protect the heat transfer logos and the reflective bar on the back hem.
Tumble dry on low heat for 20-30 minutes to reactivate the non-PFC DWR finish — heat is essential to keep water beading on the surface rather than saturating the WINDWALL™ shell.
Do not bleach, do not use fabric softener, and do not use dryer sheets — all three can coat the WINDWALL™ fabric and degrade the DWR finish, the breathability, and the reflective bar on the back hem.
Do not iron, do not dry clean, and do not wring the jacket when wet — wringing can damage the lightweight 50D 74 g/m² shell and stretch the elastic-bound cuff binding.
Re-apply a non-PFC DWR spray-on treatment (like Nikwax TX Direct or Granger's Performance Repel) after several washes or whenever water stops beading on the surface — refreshes the water-shedding performance and extends the life of the WINDWALL™ shell.
After washing, stuff the jacket back into the secure-zip right pocket for storage — keeps it ready to grab for your next trail run or alpine start.
Check the thumb loops and elastic-bound cuff binding periodically for wear — these are the most common failure points on a wind jacket, and replacement is straightforward with a needle and thread.
Store the jacket in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area. Avoid long-term compression in a stuff sack beyond the secure-zip pocket, which can degrade the wind-resistant performance of the WINDWALL™ fabric over time.
