Washing
Machine wash at 40°C or below with similar colors. Wash as often as necessary to remove impurities such as sweat, dirt, campfire smoke, and cooking odors. Fasten all zips and the hook-and-loop stormflap to prevent snagging.
Detergent
For best results, use a mild, non-flake detergent rather than liquid. Avoid chlorine bleach and fabric softener — softener can coat the DRYVENT™ membrane and HEATSEEKER™ fibers, reducing performance.
Drying
Tumble dry on low heat. This helps reactivate the DWR treatment and restores the garment's water repellency. Reshape the three-piece hood and encased-elastic cuffs while damp.
DWR Refresh
Non-PFC DWR wears off with heavy use. Re-treat periodically with a spray-on DWR designed for kids' rainwear to maintain surface water beading.
Mud & Playground Stain Care
Pre-treat playground mud, grass, food, and marker stains with a dab of mild detergent before washing. Rinse thoroughly to keep the DRYVENT™ membrane, the high-pile fleece lining, and the HEATSEEKER™ insulation working at full performance.
Reflective Care
The reflective bar on the sleeves is critical for low-light visibility. Don't iron over it and avoid harsh detergents that can degrade the reflective coating over time.
Hardware Check
Inspect the hook-and-loop stormflap, secure-zip pockets, and encased-elastic cuffs before each wear. Clear debris from the zippers and re-fasten the hook-and-loop if it stops gripping cleanly.
Safety Check
Inspect the hood, set-in sleeve seams, and printed reflective for any loose threads, fraying, or detached elements before each wear. Kids' jackets take a beating — retire the jacket for play-clothes use if it develops any damage that could pose a hazard.
Storage
Hang on a wide hanger or fold in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. UV exposure degrades DWR performance over time, even on a stored garment. Keep away from any heat sources that could damage the HEATSEEKER™ insulation.
