Base Camp Voyager Pro Crossbody
Base Camp Voyager Pro Crossbody
Bags & Gear · Crossbody / Travel Companion

Travel with ease and confidence using the Base Camp Voyager Pro Crossbody. We built this bag with an efficient, over-the-shoulder design for easy access no matter the commute. For longer trips, the Voyager Pro Crossbody can attach to the Voyager Pro Travel Pack, while lightweight water-resistant material helps keep the elements at bay. Whether your destination is next door or off the grid, this is the bag to get you there.

Base Camp Voyager Material
Durable, lightweight and water-resistant Base Camp Voyager material — the 300D recycled polyester body with TPU coating plus the 840D recycled ballistic nylon boot (bottom and high-abrasion zone) provide the legendary Base Camp durability in a smaller, lighter package; the TPU coating sheds light rain and resists abrasions from being set down on concrete, in the train, or under airline seats
Travel Pack Integration
Attaches directly to the front panel of the Base Camp Voyager Pro Travel Pack — when used as a standalone piece the crossbody rides over the shoulder; on the travel pack it docks into the dedicated front attachment points to consolidate two bags into one carry without removing anything from the crossbody; ideal for getting through airports and train stations without juggling multiple bags
Adjustable Shoulder Strap
Adjustable shoulder strap lets you fine-tune the crossbody ride — wear it high and tight for cycling through crowds, or long and loose for low-impact walking; the strap is built to handle the 11.1 oz / 315 g bag weight comfortably for extended wear without binding the shoulder
Organized Main Compartment
Zippered main compartment has three divider sleeves, two drop-in mesh pockets and a secure-zip mesh pocket — the divider sleeves keep a phone, passport, and small tablet separated for fast access; the drop-in mesh pockets hold cables, chargers, and earbuds where you can see them; the secure-zip mesh pocket tucks wallet, cash, and keys in a pocket that closes so nothing falls out when the bag is opened upside-down

Sustainability

Recycled Content
Body 300D recycled polyester; boot 840D recycled ballistic nylon; lining 200D recycled polyester
DWR Finish
Non-PFC DWR on boot fabric (no perfluorinated chemicals)
Cleaning
Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth and mild soap (a drop of dish soap in warm water works well). For tougher stains, use a soft brush to work the lather into the 300D recycled polyester body or 840D recycled ballistic nylon boot. Do not machine wash or tumble dry — the agitation damages the TPU coating on the body and the PU coating on the boot, and can compromise the non-PFC DWR finish. Do not use bleach or harsh solvents — these break down the polyurethane coatings and the recycled polyester fibers.
Drying
Air dry at room temperature with the main compartment open so air can circulate inside. Do not use a clothes dryer, radiator, hair dryer, or direct sunlight — heat damages the TPU and PU coatings and degrades the non-PFC DWR finish on the 840D ballistic nylon boot. If the bag is wet from rain, stuff it loosely with paper towels or a dry towel to absorb interior moisture, then let it air dry with the zipper open. Full drying usually takes 12–24 hours depending on humidity.
Interior Cleaning
The 200D recycled polyester lining accumulates lint and crumbs over time. Turn the bag inside out (open the main zipper fully and pull the lining through) and shake out debris. For a deeper clean, wipe the lining with a damp cloth and a tiny amount of mild soap, then wipe again with a clean damp cloth to remove soap residue. Allow to fully air dry before storing or using.
Mesh Pocket Care
The two drop-in mesh pockets and the secure-zip mesh pocket in the main compartment are designed for visibility and breathability — avoid overstuffing them, as the mesh is lighter weight than the body fabric and can stretch out if consistently loaded beyond capacity. If the mesh snags, trim loose threads with sharp scissors rather than pulling them, which can enlarge the hole.
Zipper Care
The main compartment zip and the secure-zip mesh pocket zip are both standard YKK-style coil zippers. Avoid forcing the zipper if it catches — work it back and forth gently. If the zipper becomes sticky or gritty (especially after exposure to sand, salt, or dirt), a light application of zipper lubricant (Zeppa Zipper Lubricant, Nikwax Zip Lubricant, or even a graphite pencil rubbed along the teeth) restores smooth operation. Clear sand and grit from the zipper teeth before closing the bag in coastal or sandy environments.
Shoulder Strap Care
The adjustable shoulder strap is the highest-stress component — it bears the full 11.1 oz / 315 g bag weight plus whatever is inside. Inspect the strap webbing and stitching periodically, especially at the adjustment buckle and at the attachment points to the bag. If the webbing frays, the stitching loosens, or the buckle slips under load, replace the strap before it fails in use. Most outdoor gear repair shops can swap a strap inexpensively, or TNF can send a replacement under their gear repair program.
TPU & PU Coating Care
The TPU coating on the 300D body and the PU coating on the 840D boot fabric are what make the bag water-resistant. Avoid prolonged folding or creasing — sharp creases can crack the coating over time. Do not iron — heat melts the polyurethane coatings. Avoid contact with sharp objects that can puncture the coating (carabiners, keys with exposed teeth, the corners of laptops pressed against the lining). If the coating wears thin in high-friction zones (bottom corners, where the bag contacts the floor), a TPU/PU re-coating spray can restore some water resistance.
DWR Restoration
The non-PFC DWR finish on the 840D recycled ballistic nylon boot wears off with use (typically after 6–12 months of regular use, or sooner with heavy rain exposure). When water stops beading on the boot fabric, restore with a spray-on DWR — Nikwax TX Direct Spray-On or Granger's Performance Repel are formulated for synthetic fabrics and won't compromise the PU coating. Apply to the clean, damp boot fabric only (not the TPU-coated body or the lining), let dry, then tumble briefly on low or use a hair dryer on the cool setting to activate the finish.
Storage
Store clean and fully dry in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Do not store compressed — leaving the bag stuffed under heavy items for months deforms the recycled polyester and can crack the TPU coating. Store the bag in its natural shape with the main compartment open or loosely closed so the lining can air out. If storing for an extended period, place a cedar block or lavender sachet inside to deter mustiness and moths.
