Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF) 40+ shields skin from harsh sun exposure during long days on exposed ridgelines, alpine starts, and high-output days where sunscreen wears off — a reliable fabric-level barrier against UV.
Recycled Polyester Body
Body fabric made with 89% recycled polyester — lightweight, breathable, and built with a significantly lower environmental footprint than virgin poly construction.
Packable Hood Pouch

Packability

Washing
Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with similar colors. Use a mild technical detergent — avoid bleach, fabric softeners, and harsh stain removers, which can degrade the LIGHTRANGE™ finish, the UPF treatment, and the anti-odor properties over time.
Drying
Tumble dry low or hang dry. The lightweight 108 g/m² fabric dries quickly on the line — air drying extends the life of the LIGHTRANGE™ finish and preserves the bonded brim and taped shoulder seams.
Zipper Care
Close the YKK® AquaGuard® center front zipper fully before washing to protect the slider and the FLATKNIT® tape. If the zipper sticks during wear, gently work it back and forth — never force it.
UPF Maintenance
The UPF 40+ protection is built into the fabric and lasts the life of the garment with normal care. Avoid harsh chemicals, bleach, and prolonged UV exposure during storage to preserve the treatment.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Hang or fold flat — the lightweight fabric doesn't benefit from compression. Clean before storing to prevent body oils and sweat from setting into the fibers.
Anti-Odor Refresh
The LIGHTRANGE™ anti-odor treatment performs best when the garment is fully aired out between wears. Hang immediately after sweaty use and let air circulate before folding or storing.
