Big Break Lunch Bag

If you’re serious about lunch, invite the Big Break to join you. Featuring a large insulated main compartment to keep items hot or cold plus an exterior zip pocket for utensils or napkins and an adjustable Velcro handle.

Insulated Main Compartment
An extra roomy insulated main compartment that keeps food hot or cold — the headline feature for a lunch bag, sized to swallow a full meal plus a drink and a snack. The insulation is the design that lets the user pack a lunch at 7am and still eat a chilled salad at noon, or pack soup at home and still eat it warm at the office.
Lunch-Bag Form Factor
A lunch-essential form factor that’s the dedicated carrier for a midday meal — the right size for a sandwich, a salad bowl, a thermos, a piece of fruit, and a snack, all in one bag. The 8 L capacity is sized to hold a workday’s worth of food without forcing a separate bag for a drink.
External Zippered Utensil Pocket
An external zippered pocket for utensils, napkins, or other small items — the quick-access slot for the items that aren’t part of the insulated main compartment. The exterior pocket keeps the utensils and napkins separate from the food, the same way a bento box separates courses.
Hook & Loop Backpack Attachment
A hook-and-loop fastened top handle for easy backpack attachment — the closure that straps the lunch bag to the outside of a backpack shoulder strap. The hook-and-loop design is the carry choice for a user who doesn’t want to carry the lunch bag separately on a commute; the lunch rides on the backpack.
Adjustable Velcro Handle
An adjustable Velcro handle — the carry loop that wraps around a backpack strap or a bag handle and adjusts to fit. The Velcro design is the alternative to a fixed-size loop; the user can size it to a thin strap or a wide belt.
Top-Handle Carry
A top handle for standalone carry — the small grab loop that lets the user carry the lunch bag by hand from a fridge to a desk to a table. The top handle is the carry choice for the user who doesn’t want to attach the bag to a backpack.
Insulated Hot/Cold Retention
Hot or cold food retention throughout a workday — the insulation design that’s rated for the typical 4–6 hour gap between packing and eating. The thermal performance is the differentiator from a fabric tote that lets food reach ambient temperature within an hour.
100% Recycled 600D Body
A 100% recycled 600 Denier Polyester main body fabric built to last — the same burly baseline JanSport fabric used across the daily-carry line. The denier rating is the part that holds up against a lunch-leak wipe-down over years of daily use.
JS™ Metal Zipper Pull
The Signature JS™ stamped metal zipper pull on the main compartment — the same hardware used across the full JanSport line. The metal pull is the giveaway this isn’t a disposable lunch bag, and it’s the part that takes the most repeated abuse on a daily lunch routine.
Lightweight 8 oz Build
Weighs 8 oz / 0.2 kg empty — lighter than most sandwiches, so the lunch bag itself never becomes the load. The low weight is the reason this works as an everyday carry instead of a niche weekend-only item.

Spot Cleaning The 600D Body
Wipe the 100% recycled 600 Denier Polyester body with a damp cloth and mild soap for everyday lunch spills — the same baseline fabric used across the JanSport daily-carry line. Treat stains immediately; food residue sets into fabric faster than other grime, and a set-in lunch stain is harder to lift than a fresh spill.
Insulated Liner Care
The insulated main compartment liner sees food contact every day — wipe the liner interior with a disinfecting wipe or a mild soap solution after every use and let it air-dry with the bag open. A damp closed liner breeds bacteria and odor; the insulation’s thermal performance doesn’t degrade from washing.
Hook & Loop (Velcro) Care
The hook-and-loop top handle collects lint and debris under daily use — clean the hook side with a stiff brush or the sticky side of tape monthly. A clogged hook-and-loop closure loses grip and the lunch bag will slide off a backpack strap. Test the closure’s grip strength seasonally.
External Utensil Pocket Care
The external zippered pocket holds utensils and napkins that can stain or smell — empty the pocket daily so crumbs and used napkins don’t sit in the bag overnight. A weekly wipe-down of the pocket interior with a disinfecting wipe keeps the pocket clean for the next day’s utensils.
JS™ Metal Zipper Pull Care
The Signature JS™ stamped metal zipper pull is the hardware that takes the most repeated abuse — test the pull occasionally to confirm the tab-to-zipper connection hasn’t loosened under daily use. A graphite-free zipper lubricant along the teeth will keep the action smooth if the bag sits unused for a season.
Hand Wash Between Seasons
Hand-wash the lunch bag occasionally in mild soap and lukewarm water and let it air dry flat — the 600D recycled polyester dries fast. Empty the main compartment, the external utensil pocket, and the top handle hook-and-loop before washing. Don’t machine-wash; the agitation degrades the insulation’s structure.
Storage
Store the lunch bag empty and flat with the main compartment unzipped in a dry place between uses — a kitchen drawer or a pantry shelf keeps the 600D body from sitting in a crease for months. Airing out the closed bag overnight prevents the musty lunch smell that builds up in a sealed insulated compartment.
