Men's Adventure Sun Hoodie
Men's Adventure Sun Hoodie
Sun Hoodie · Hike / Trail / Paddle / Travel / Sun Protection

For sun as unrelenting as your dedication to the outdoors, reach for the Men's Adventure Sun Hoodie. Features like UPF 40+ protection, a three-piece hood, and integrated thumbholes keep you covered, while snag-resistant FLASHDRY-XD technology helps keep moisture at bay. The 187 g/m² lightweight fabric with 8% elastane stretches through every reach on a long approach, dries fast after a paddle or a hard climb, and stands up to the brush and rocks of a trail day. Sized for a full day's sun exposure without the bulk of a technical mid-layer.

Regular Fit
Regular fit through the body with a clean athletic cut — sized to wear over a baselayer on a cool morning, or on its own with shorts on a hot afternoon at the lake. The cut moves with the body through a long hike, a hard paddle, or a long day of running errands, and the fit is sized to be a true active layer rather than a tight racing-cut top. The regular cut works under a pack or a hydration belt without bunching.
FlashDry-XD™ Performance
FLASHDRY-XD materials offer enhanced moisture management to help keep you comfortable and increased snag resistance for extra durability — the XD is the "extra-durable" version of FlashDry, with a tighter weave and stronger yarn construction that holds up to brush, rock contact, and the kind of snag-inducing surface the Adventure Sun is built to handle. FlashDry pulls sweat off the skin and spreads it across the surface for fast evaporation, which is what keeps the hoodie from staying damp after a hard climb or a wet-water session.
UPF 40+ Sun Protection
UPF 40+ protection in direct sunlight — the fabric construction provides a built-in barrier against UV rays, blocking 97.5% or more of UVA and UVB radiation. The UPF 40+ rating is the spec'd detail for any high-sun-exposure layer, and the protection is built into the fabric rather than applied as a treatment that washes out. Sized to cover the arms, the neck, and the head (via the hood) without the bulk of a long-sleeve sun shirt — the Adventure Sun is the all-day sun-protective layer for a paddle, a long approach, or a desert hike.
92% Recycled Polyester
Body fabric made with 92% recycled polyester, 8% elastane — the recycled content comes from post-consumer plastic that would otherwise be in a landfill. The 8% elastane adds the stretch that lets the hoodie move with the body through a high reach, a deep lunge, or a hard paddle stroke. The 187 g/m² weight is light enough to dry quickly after a sweat session, sturdy enough to wear as a primary sun layer for a full season.
Three-Piece Hood
Three-piece hood — the three-piece construction follows the shape of the head for a snug, vision-friendly fit, and the hood sits cleanly on the shoulders when worn down or lays flat against the back when pushed back. The hood extends the sun coverage from the arms and the neck up over the head, which is the difference between an open-neck sun shirt and a sun-protective hoodie. Sized to be compatible with a low-profile cap or a beanie underneath on a cold-morning start.
Self-Fabric Back-Collar Tape
Self fabric tape on inner back collar — a small piece of the same fabric as the body sewn inside the back of the collar, covering the seam binding and adding a finished, comfortable feel against the back of the neck. The detail is what makes the Adventure Sun feel more like a layer and less like a piece of technical gear against the skin. A small construction detail that earns its place on a layer designed for all-day sun exposure.
Set-In Sleeves
Set-in sleeves — constructed with a shoulder seam that sits at the natural shoulder line, rather than the dropped-shoulder construction of a vintage sweat. The set-in sleeve gives the hoodie a cleaner silhouette, allows more room through the chest for movement, and lets the arm swing through a full range of motion without the shoulder seam pulling across the neck. A small construction detail that elevates the regular cut from a basic hoodie.
Integrated Thumbholes
Thumbholes created by top-panel opening on sleeves — the small cutouts in the top panel of the sleeve that create a thumb hole when the hand slides through. The thumbholes lock the sleeves over the hands for an instant glove replacement on a cold-morning start or a high-sun-exposure paddle, and they keep the sleeves from riding up the arm when the hand reaches overhead. The top-panel construction means the thumbholes are part of the cut of the sleeve rather than a separate piece, so they don't wear out or detach after a season of use.
Heat-Transfer Logo
Heat transfer logo on the left chest — the lightweight, low-bulk branding that doesn't add a sewn-on patch or a heavy print. The heat-transfer process bonds the logo to the fabric, so it moves with the hoodie instead of sitting on top of it. Subtle enough to disappear against a pack, visible enough to read the brand mark in daylight.

Sustainability

Recycled Content
92% recycled polyester body
Machine Wash
Machine wash cold with like colors. Use a mild detergent. Turn the hoodie inside out to protect the heat-transfer logo on the chest. Wash with similar technical fabrics to avoid pilling from rougher materials. Cold water preserves the recycled polyester, the FlashDry-XD finish, and the UPF treatment. The 187 g/m² fabric is light enough to dry quickly even on a low-heat cycle.
Tumble Dry Low
Tumble dry on low heat, or hang dry. The lightweight 187 g/m² fabric dries fast on a line or a rack, even in humid conditions. Remove from the dryer promptly to minimize wrinkles. High heat will degrade the FlashDry-XD finish, the elastane stretch, and the UPF treatment. Low heat or line drying extends the life of the hoodie significantly and keeps the sun protection performing like new.
Do Not Bleach or Iron
Do not use chlorine bleach, fabric softener, or iron. Bleach breaks down the recycled polyester, the elastane, and reduces the UPF protection. Fabric softener coats the fibers with a film that reduces the FlashDry-XD moisture-wicking performance. Ironing directly on the hoodie will melt the heat-transfer logo and damage the thumbhole construction.
Maintain UPF
Maintain UPF protection by avoiding fabric softeners and harsh detergents — the UPF 40+ rating is built into the fabric construction rather than applied as a surface treatment, so it doesn't wash out, but a fabric softener can fill in the weave and reduce the UV-blocking performance. A mild detergent and a proper wash cycle keep the protection performing like new. After extended use, the UPF performance remains intact even as the fabric softens with wear.
Rinse After Salt Water
Rinse the hoodie in fresh water after a salt-water swim or paddle — salt degrades the FlashDry-XD finish and the recycled polyester over time. A quick rinse in clean tap water, then a normal wash cycle, keeps the finish performing like new. The lightweight fabric dries quickly after a rinse, so this is a small detail that adds significant life to the hoodie for paddlers and beach-goers.
Storage
Fold and store in a cool, dry place. Hang on a wide wooden or padded hanger if hanging, to avoid stretching the thumbhole cutouts or distorting the shoulder seams. A standard wire hanger can leave pointed shoulder bumps on a regular-fit hoodie. Keep the hoodie away from direct sunlight in storage to preserve the UPF treatment and prevent any future fading of the dyed fabric.
